Club History
The Beginning
Real Valladolid Club de Fútbol S.A.D., based in the municipality of Valladolid, Castile and León, was founded on June 20, 1928.

Valladolid first reached the top level of Spanish football in 1948 as champions of the Segunda División and became the first Castile and León club to play in the Spanish top flight.

Honors
The club has won the second tier Segunda División title on three occasions (1947-48, 1958-59 and 2006-07) while also claiming the short-lived Copa de la Liga trophy in 1984. In the more prestigious Copa del Rey, Valladolid has finished runner-up twice (1949-50 and 1988-89).

Recent Years
From 1980 to 2004 Valladolid spent all but one season in La Liga (1992-93) but since then have developed into a yo-yo club with the past 18 seasons split between 8 campaigns in the first tier and 10 in the second tier.

Brazilian legend Ronaldo purchased a 51% stake in the club in 2018 and has since upped his shares to 82%.

Other
The club plays its home games at the Estadio José Zorilla which seats 27,618 spectators.

This career is beginning in the summer of 2022 as Valladolid have immediately bounced back to La Liga following a relegation in 2020-21 by finishing second in the Segunda División in 2021-22.
