NBA Live '95

It's not so much about the quality of the game... but more so about the expectations of the gamer.

With one year development cycles, the kind of depth some guys want just can't be done. These games are beyond a complex nature.

Getting something in as simple as a player accessory is a chore.

I always wanted them to come out every 2 years to be honest. But everyone doesn't feel that way. And they refuse to let us edit pre-existing players so we couldn't even keep the game going if we wanted to

Ah what a great game. I remember renting it all the time, but my friend and his Knicks and John Starks hitting all those half court shots pissed me off. 96 was my favorite, because of the mentioned create a player. When I got the game I was so mad that the rookies weren't in it (And I was only 12 years old!) so I was relieved to see the create a player feature. Obviously I created Jordan first, and I was sooooo shocked when all the attributes changed to match Jordan after I entered the name (I think I did this for Barkley too...I don't think he was in the game either.) Then even more so when I started entering the rookies...Stoudamire, Big Country, etc.

My friend and I used to trade Ceballos to Chicago and pretend it's MJ (wore # 23). In Live 96, after the first game, we went to the CAP menu and created MJ. My friend was like "OK, looking good, let's play with him now", and I was like "No, I need to make him exactly like MJ, give me 2 more minutes, it's gotta be perfect!". LOL

I play the Sega Genesis version at this daycare camp that I went to as a child. Cool game.

Now, Live 97 was the ish.

When I first saw Live 97 I thought it was the realest thing ever! I was like "Wow!!! Look at the faces - it's real!!!". After a while I was laughing at those faces...lol they looked like mosters with those zombie eyes The funniest thing was when you shoot a free-throw they show you the player from behind, and his socks always look like it's worn out or something...guys don't have money for new socks...LAMO. And LOL when players call for the ball with that "Give me the ball, just pass it already" motion...
