I don't get it. Your company makes millions of dollars. Why not spend some to make a baseball game for consoles again. Who ever is running EA needs to be fired.

There is no exclusive MLB deal anymore, and there hasn't been since 2k's ran out in 2012. Sony's current licensing deal with MLB/MLBPA is not an exclusive one.

I have to imagine it's not profitable for them as much as we think it would be. Hell, they can't even get Madden right. At this point, between football, soccer, hockey, golf, and MMA, they probably don't want to spend the money to compete with another company. I think the reason why have a legit chance competing with 2k with golf is because of the Masters and some of the other exclusive courses.



That said though, I am looking forward to their College Football game (again, no competition though...)


Old man yelling at the clouds moment and off-topic, but games are no longer passion projects where every year felt like a whole year was spent on a title, instead now it's doing as little as possible and introducing incremental changes and drip-feed mechanics. I feel like the last 10 years with the majority of sports titles I've come away with, "You've spent a year on THIS!?" It sucks being the dinosaur...

I'm still betting on MVP Baseball 2024 coming out next year.

Interested in seeing where they go with this, SMB, and all other baseball ventures moving forward. Good to see Julio in the spotlight so early on, though. I imagine SDS would've nabbed him, but either with this early signing or SDS going with their Negro Leagues push (or for any other reason), I see the decision to go elsewhere like Chisolm.

Almost got me. I read EA Sports MLB then I see Tap and I see where it's going and come back to reality.
