Funny you mention this actually, I don't necessarily count steps but if I'm climbing or going down stairs I will engrave in my head (if I used them a lot) whether the number of steps is even- or odd-numbered. So if I'm skipping every other step on a staircase (which I do commonly) and there is an odd number of steps, I will start on the first step instead of skipping it so I can end up skipping the last step.

I also tend to not "step on cracks" while walking if the sidewalk tiles are large enough so that I'm not walking too awkwardly.

There now, at least it's more informative than someone who just reaches the ten character threshold by only typing "Fast Five."

I also often count steps when going up or down stairs. Sometimes when walking somewhere I'll even randomly start counting to myself how many steps I take then I'll catch myself and ask myself why I am counting my steps.

Re: Quirky things you do...

Whenever there is text on the TV (like on commercials) I count how many letters there are. Or when I see a sign on the road I count how many letters are on it.

All dollar bills must be facing the same way and in order starting with $1 bills.

Everything on a table, especially square things, must be straight.

I wash dishes right before I use them even though they have already been washed.

All volumes and alarms must be on a number that ends in 5.

I guess Monk was my favorite show for a reason!

i set up my mp3 to play a good song at the beginning. if a song bout to go off and I'm bout to get out my car i rewind it and turn it off immediately at 0:00
