Hmmm...contemplating a move to Indiana are you? I smell a huge rivalry in the Domestic League brewing if that happens!

I'm pretty confused trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do now for the off-season.

If it says "auto" contract renewal I don't have to do anything right? Just the ones that say "arb"?

Anyone who you don't want to keep that is due arbitration, you need to release.

Auto renewels are fine.

The other thing you can be checking is players that are RULE 5 eligible. If you don't want them exposed to the RULE 5 draft, you have to move them to your 40-man Roster.

Beyond that, start prepping for Free Agency.

Can I get guys off my 40 man roster? I couldn't find a way.

And your saying that everyone in the farm system is fair game for rule 5? Or is that just players over a certain number of years?

Also do I straight release the guys due arbitration, or is their a difference between waive/waive and DFA/those other options.

Re: Brewers League Baseball (OOTP League) is Hiring

If you look under their contract status it will tell you if they are RULE 5 eligible.

If you're not too familiar, these are the rules of RULE 5:

A player is eligible for the Rule 5 draft if he meets the following conditions:
1. The player has at least three years of professional service time and the
player was age 19 or older when he first signed a contract.

2. The player is not on the team’s secondary roster

Note: Players who were age 18 or younger when they entered the league are eligible if they have at least four but fewer than seven years of professional service time. In other words, young players get an extra year before they become eligible for the Rule 5 draft.

Another way of looking at this rule is:
A player not on a team’s secondary roster is eligible for the Rule 5 draft if the player was age 18 or younger when he first signed a contract and this is the fourth Rule 5 draft since he signed, OR if he was age 19 or older when he first signed a contract and this is the third Rule 5 draft since he signed.

Even quicker way is to look for the guys with the pound sign (#) next to their name.

To get players off your 40 man, they have to clear waivers.

Just RELEASE them if you don't want them to go to arbitration.
