This should become the first (and only) thread to be stickied in the Non-Sports Gaming forum. It would be a great way to be able to always just keep up with the current deals without a new thread always being created.

Yep that would be cool.

I love the Gamestop Powerup rewards program as I've had probably 200+ in savings just from the coupons since January. It's well worth it if you do it and get over the "Gamestop sucks" mentality. I've yet had any impolite employees and like I said earlier I've gotten some pretty nice "deals" / perks from the guys/gals here.

Currently I have a total of 35.00 in coupons I haven't used(bought with points) yet. I'm waiting until I get to the 50.00 + stage then I'll grab whatever new game that comes out I want.

Me: Can I get dragon age 2 for PS3?
GS: Did you preorder it?
Me: No.
GS: Here you go, while your here did you want to preorder anything else?
Me: No thank you.
GS: You sure, I see you've purchased sports games in the past, if your gonna get NCAA 12, you might as well just put five dollars down now to make sure you get a copy when it comes out. (Like anything other than maybe halo or COD would every completely sell out everywhere.).
Me: Yeah, well that doesn't come out until July, so I'll pass for now.
GS: There are some other big games coming out sooner... Duke Nukem, Brink, La Noire... (The guy then explains to me everything he knows about the games, which isn't much) anything else you'd to preorder?
Me: Not today, if I do I will do it at a later time.
GS: OK... Fair enough, suit yourself. Would you like to become an edge member?
Me: No thank you, I don't shop here enough.
GS: Well, if you buy games the rewards add up... yada yada yada.
Me: nah, that's alright.
GS: (20 minutes after I asked for DA2) Ok, here you go... have a good day.

That is just standard retail stuff. They have to say that stuff or they will get written up by their manager. It is like that at damn near every retail store. Everytime I go to Best Buy, Walmart or Kmart they always asking me if I want their store credit card, do I want to pre-order a game , join their store rewards club or want their store warranty.

I remember when I worked in retail I got written up by the store co-manager for not asking customers those things. Hell they even called me into the office and threaten to fire me over that BS for not promoting store stuff.

Re: Official Gaming Deals Thread

I use www.cheapassgamer.com to find the best video game deals.

A few months back the site led me to LA Noire pre-ordered for $30.
A few weeks ago I got Crysis 2 new on release date for $20.

They also have a database to find the store that has the best trade in values for your used games.

Yep, it's a no brainer to use the program IMO.
If you're going to buy games why not get points that add up.
It's probably not worth it if you only buy a couple games every year but I usually get the games I passed on new as they get to 17.99 etc... Especially during the b2g1 deals. Even if u only get a couple games a year the points still add up I guess.
