EDIT: Until you get bum rushed by the guys in my avatar!
I feel your pain, creepers seem to sneak up on you at the worst possible time. I was building a tunnel from my "main base" to a mine that has this huge wall of gold among other valuable things to mine, but it's far away from my base. Traveling at night is not exactly easy so I began a tunnel. I was right at the end, connecting it to the mine when a creeper spawns IN THE TUNNEL and blows up. I had to rebuild a pretty big chunk. While fighting off hordes of zombies and spiders.

I need to set up traps for these guys.
Do you guys use any texture packs? I'm using the Painterly Pack, which lets you customize it by selecting from a variety of textures for each and everything that has a texture in the game. It's much easier on the eyes than the default look IMO. I made my zombies look like yetis and gave creepers a crazy face.

Re: Minecraft

What's worse is when they are looking in through your door panel, and you only have one way out. Bastards.

Also, I hate it when I get killed in a mine at night and then respawn out in the open. Good luck with that.

No problem! I've found it to be even more enjoyable with that pack.

Worked perfectly for me also, something I didn't think possible because I always run the game from my browser.
