As real as it gets CPU vs. CPU sliders

I bought this game about a week after it came out and have been trying to get a solid set of CPU vs. CPU sliders ever since. Well, I think I finally came up with a set that gives you about as accurate an experience of simming college football as possible with the game. I'll post a few box scores soon to give you an idea of what you can expect with them.

I still may tweak the running game slightly, but the passing game is finally where I want it where good passers will throw down field as they should and average about 12-15 yards per completion while still maintaining a realistic completion percentage.

Feel free to post any box scores here. Here is the link OS Box Score generator.

Changes in red as of 12/5/2023

Gameplay Options:
Offense: All-American
Defense: All-American
Quarter Length: 7
Game Speed: Normal
Speed Treshold: 40
HFA: OFF

Penalties:
Everything on default

AI (Both CPU and HUM)
QB Accuracy: 5
Pass Blocking: 60
WR Catching: 50
RB Ability: 50
Run Blocking: 35
Pass Coverage: 50
Interceptions: 40
Rush Defense: 10
Tackling: 15
FG Power: 55
FG Accuracy: 35
Punt Power: 40
Punt Accuracy: 75
Kickoff Power: 50

Scrambling QB Edits
Awareness: +1
Break Tackle: -5
Trucking: -15
Elusiveness: -15

Then, if the QB is still not listed as Balanced, add as many points as necessary to the Strength rating until the QB is listed as Balanced.

You may also need to add a point or 2 to the awareness to get the QB back to the original Overall rating.

These edits are necessary to prevent the scrambling QBs from taking off entirely too many times. QBs will still run plenty, but it will only be on designed run/option plays or when absolutely necessary...instead of just running when their first option isn't open every play. The end result is "scrambling" QBs actually throwing the ball the way you would expect.

Feedback is more than welcome, but I hope these work as well for you as they are for me!

Re: As real as it gets CPU vs. CPU sliders

I changed Florida's playbook to Spread, which is what they will likely run with the new Offensive Coordinator. The new playbook looks like it had a decent impact on the running game, which is why you see Driskel with so many rushing yards.

Zocrates, I’m using your sliders on a 2013 season where my team plays cpu vs cpu. I'm on xbox and using bamaboi03 rooster. So far throught the first 3 weeks it looks really good. Thank you for a good set of sliders.

Thanks for testing. I actually found a pretty big hole with the sliders that doesn't seem to want to go away in terms of pass defense....which is the issue that never seems to go away ever since the patch.

I'm still doing some testing to see if I can come up with a fix though.

Re: As real as it gets CPU vs. CPU sliders

let a few games play out in my oregon dynasty in year 2017. and for one i accidently left it on 8 mins so my scores and stats were really low ( my team ranked #1 for all defensive categories and my offense was ranked #120ish in all categories even though I went like 4-1 during those games) so i may even try bumping it up to 10 mins but they may be too much. also rb is way too high i feel, way too many broken tackles so may lower that a bit and up the tackle. pass defense is way too soft as well. thanks for this slider set, everything else is good, please keep us updated on any changes you find that are good!

Re: As real as it gets CPU vs. CPU sliders

One thing I've found that drives me nuts is going for it on 4th down. I don't think there's a fix for it, but it seems anytime a team is on the 30 to 40 yard line they will go for it on forth down regardless of the situation.

VT up two scores just into the 3rd quarter, 4th and 12 on the 30 yd line and instead of trying a field go they go for it. End up scoring a TD.

I've seen it many times. Seems like team doesn't matter, situation doesn't matter, etc. Just have to be 4th down and on the 30 to 40 yd. line.
