MyLeague: Replacing injured players on roster?

My players keep being seriously injured taking open jumpers (I wish I was kidding), and now I have five injured players (four long-term) in early November. But I can't replace any of them without cutting other players, which would still leave me with a 10 man squad.

Am I missing something in terms of a disabled list, or am I really stuck with a short bench for months?

In the real NBA you could apply for a hardship exception, which, like many aspects of NBA management, doesn't exist in this game. In the meantime you are unfortunately just stuck with a smaller roster. You can get by with a 10 man rotation provided that you have a proper mix of positional variety, which I'm guessing you don't. My advice would be if you have plenty of big men and need a backup point (just for example), try and trade a big man for a backup point. This actually does happen fairly often in the NBA when long term injuries are involved.

Yea man, you could look at that Varejao injury and the Cavs trading for Mozgov as an example of that.

I'm in the same position. It seems like open jumpers and players jumping for a rebound causes critical injuries.

Yeah this is well documented. It's just how the game handles injuries.

Thanks for the replies. Out of curiosity, are there injuries other than the blowing out a knee taking an open jumper variety? If so, I might just edit that variety of blown knees down to 7 day twisted knees when they happen.

I've seen broken legs, torn mcl's and quite a few more.
Edit: Anthony Davis just went down with a dislocated patella for 6-8 weeks. sigh.

Marvin Williams broke his ankle today on a jump shot. Funny that it was about an hour after I read your post. It was a quick game, so no practice fatigue or anything.
