Coach Ratings

I've long wondered this. Has anyone determined how big a difference coach ratings make when you control a team, if any? I feel confident saying it does something when simulating, but what about when you actually play as that team?

I'm speaking mainly of the offense/defense ratings. I'd assume the badges have some sort of effect if you have staff abilities on in MyNBA.
