The TrueSim Roster Project: NBA 2k24

I'm back!

Over the years, I've chimed in on the 2k forums about sliders and tendencies. And a couple of years ago I released a version of the ratings and tendencies generator I've refined for the last decade. But I haven't released a complete roster project since NBA 2k15 on PS4.

That changes this year.

The roster I'm working on will include full ratings and tendency updates for the best gameplay and MyNBA experience possible. The roster will not be badge-free, but it will have much fewer badges than other rosters (and the default roster). For example, LeBron has 24 badges compared to 46 in the default roster.

Why?

We want ratings and tendencies to stand out AND we want improved sim stats.

I will also include sliders (gameplay and MyNBA) that will be tested and ready for yall to enjoy.

The roster is in progress. I'm in the lab daily working on it. Things like playbooks and gear aren't a priority right now, and I'd welcome help on that end if anyone is interested.

But for now, I want the basketball to be right. Let's get it!

UPDATE: ROSTER NOW AVAILABLE
Download: TrueSimTD (Cycloniac24 is the user name)
Sliders: TrueSim Sliders
Scenario: TrueSimTD (simmed up to day after trade deadline with accurate standings and realistic stats along with other tweaks)

Are you doing a CPUVCPU slider set like you did last year?

You know I love your work, and I've been one of your loyal followers for a few years now, especially for baseball, but I don't think I can wait a few months to start my 'chise. Best of luck Cy, and thanks for all you do for this community.

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: NBA 2k24

Got some positive early results in testing last night. Working on dialing in sliders and getting my tendency scales to mesh.

Also testing run plays at 50 vs 100 to see which flows better as well as looking at fast breaks.

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: NBA 2k24

Adjusted my tendency scales for gameplay and liking the results. Also seeing organic fast breaks, just need to play a little more with the speed slider but liking what I have with the off ball speed sliders.

Going to apply the tendency scale updates to my calculations and get more teams in.

Liking run plays at 100. Also liked play discpline at 100 for all. May give 50 for all another go. Originally started with more spread in the play discpline tendency (0 or 25 for stars/high shot guys and 100 for role players), but found that ball dominant players were too aggressive and dominated the shot share too much.

Will record some gameplay when I'm farther along in tests.
