It's time all combat sports adopt ONEs hydration rules. It's not a perfect system, but nobody can tell me having a MW fight a LHW is a great system.
Boxing has the same issues. It's gotten to the point where the best fighters are the ones who can lose and then rehydrate the most weight without losing strength.
There are weight classes for a reason. IMO, every fighter should be within no more than 5% of the max weight by the time they step in the ring/cage.
Using the WW division as an example that means nobody can be more than 178.5 lbs.
If you can't, then too bad. Move up to MW - where Garry would have failed to make weight too.
Dude jumped 2 weight classes within 36 hours.
