Well they’ll change in this circumstance under the guise of preventing injuries to pitchers, but it will be used as a way to eliminate it all together.

Re: Universal DH

I have a personal rule...there are three things I will not discuss online:

- Religion
- Politics
- the DH rule

Since this the MLB The Show forum, I'll add one thing; I DO hope that they will leave in the options for DH and no-DH...at least to accommodate historical rosters.

Eh not much to be honest. Deciding whether to pull your pitcher an inning early due to coming up in the order is about it.

The anti-DH crowd will be against it at first but get over it very quickly.

You don't see half the teams in hockey, football or basketball using an extra player on the field. Keep the rules the same for each.

Essentially, yes. An NL pitcher is half a player really.

Re: Universal DH

AL pitchers have had a tougher road facing 9 full batters instead of the NL who faces 8.

No one seems to mention that aspect of it.

It 100% should be the same in both leagues. Either have a DH or no DH but it should be the same.

Players like David Ortiz had the career he did due to there being a DH. Why deprive the opportunity for other guys to have the same type career by only having the position available on 50% of teams? This will also create more jobs for players which is a good thing for the game.

Why would anyone want to pitch in the American League?

They have to face an extra bat!

Re: Universal DH

Not sure if this has been posted are if anyone here aware , but you can setup a custom league with DH on for both AL and NL teams.

We have been using this route since the game came out.

You only have 1 division in custom leagues and theres no NL or AL but can play with friends etc using the universal DH your own sliders etc.
