Just sounds different off his bat. Not a great way to start the year off for Burns lol.

Re: MLB The Show 24 Home Run Thread

Ian Happ goes Perfect Perfect for 513 feet. For context the wind was blowing out to center at 12 MPH. So this ball got a lot of help.

Re: MLB The Show 24 Home Run Thread

Not a HR (I've contributed previously in the thread as well as being the thread starter), but just some thoughts on why we're seeing longer distance tanks this year:

I've noticed that the Exit Velo "ceiling" has been raised pretty dramatically this year, about up to where the numbers are in real life. That means that Shohei is very capable of a perfect-perfect 119-120 MPH impact with his power rating. Put some wind behind one of those hit at the correct launch angle and.....you do the math.

It wasn't as possible in previous years (since perfect-perfect was introduced, really) because the Exit velos based on a hitter's power weren't as high as they were IRL. The wind+elevation factors could still carry a ball a significant distance, but nothing like what's possible this year.

I love it.

Re: MLB The Show 24 Home Run Thread

game #34 of the season in my Red Sox franchise

Tyler O'Neill takes Bailey Ober deep for a 455 foot HR to LF in the top of the 5th

Max Kepler takes Garrett Whitlock deep for a 477 foot blast that almost left the stadium in RF in the bottom of the 5th

Rafael Devers hits a 443 foot shot to RF for a solo HR in the top of the 9th

Re: MLB The Show 24 Home Run Thread

Spencer Strider made me look bad holding me to three runs on three hits with four walks but only lasted six innings. In the top of the eighth with two out and a runner on third the Braves brought in the lefty A.J. Minter to face Michael Busch, so I mad the obvious move and went to my bench to bring in the righty power bat of Patrick Wisdom. With one pitch it was a new ball game and the great outing by Strider was wasted. He would knock in another run in the top of the tenth with an RBI single and I would go on to win it 7-5 in ten. Every out in that Braves lineup is a tough one

I never feel like these translate all that well, but I assure you this was the nicest dinger I’ve hit on 24 so far.
