It can be daunting, but if you keep notes and make sure to save a back up on the vault, you should be fine.

Let us know if you have additional questions.
That's not terrible... if I got my ducks in a row and really pushed for it I could probably do a division a day and have it done in 6 days of working on it... but with my work schedule it would be a bit longer than that before it would actually be complete.

The only other concern I have would be regarding faces and if they would stay the same from 16 to 17 with all the changes to player customization, but as I am terrible with making faces anyways I would hope that if I exported the full 90-man roster from 2007 that someone who is good at it would be able to download that file from the vault and "check over it" so to speak.

As for credit, I would make sure to put the name of the original creator in the description of my roster as they obviously put the majority of the work in to make it happen.

That is definitely more time consuming. I'm working through that with the roster I'm currently working on. After a couple of weeks of doing faces, eyes, bodies, I'm drained and taking a few days break.

If you just do the eyes and skin color, you could probably do 1-2 mins per player. Again being generous. More realistically...you'll want to fix some hairstyles, fix uniforms, reshape head....now you're looking at 10-15 per player, depending on how much better you want it to be.

One other thing not mentioned yet, you have to at least sim through spring training to be able to use on '17. That will tweak the ratings. Some will get better ratings...some worse. For my roster, I'm basically re-rating everyone.

If you just want to port it over, that would be awesome and greatly appreciated. I think anything else would require a coordinated team effort, personally.

The first step is DL from 16's vault and setting up a franchise mode file with CPU Roster Control turned On.

Then it is simply exporting and importing players into a new franchise file.

Roster makers please chime in on this and give a step by step on porting over a roster! We have someone willing to Port the awesome 2007 Roster!!
If anyone can import 2007, it would be greatly appreciated for those of us who no longer have mlb 16

Down to updating the 1990 Phillies and then moving retired players off their '89 teams and onto Colorado and Florida. The '90 roster will have all the bells and whistles of the '89 set. I'll try to get them into the vault tonight.

AWESOME.

For 1989 I decided to run as the California Angels. About to get started on that Season Replay and I will be using Quick Counts exclusively in that one coupled with Quick Manage. Should be a fun and fast replay. Once I get to the post season however we play every pitch, every AB (I play the post season in every season replay I do regardless if my main team makes it or not).

For 1990 I am really bouncing around the idea of being Oakland and seeing if I can change history and get them a back to back title (they won it in 1989 of course in the Earthquake Series vs The Giants). It was a shocking sweep by the Reds and the Nasty Boys. The Pirates were also a great club that year!

Can't wait PJ. So happy to have these updated now for 17.

Re: List of Classic Seasons & Historical Specialty Rosters MLB The Show

'90 is in the vault and ready to go.

I've been playing my '89 season with quick counts and simming the pitching, about 50 games into the season. I'm going to try to get through a full season with my '89 and '90 A's. When I knock those out, going to play a season with the '61 Yankees with the rosters I'll start porting over next. The next one will have all of the best single season teams from each franchise.
