Re: Classic Rosters - MLB 23

OK, the AL East is pretty much done and I posted a WIP backup file to the vault. There will be rebranding that will need to be done with this division before a franchise is started as I put the Yankees in the Rays slot, the Brewers in the Blue Jays slot, and the Blue Jays in the Yankees slot. My prime motivation is to avoid the loss of retired numbers, particularly with the Yankees slot. The Blue Jays matched up best in the Yankees slot as they will lose the fewest numbers along with the fact they are the weakest team in the division with a slim chance of making the postseason.

You'll notice that this is a 30-man roster set as I have included 30 players on the 40-man rosters. Some teams will have more than 30 players and there will still be players in Double-A that have to be moved. I still have to do an equipment check and the uniform numbers, but I'll work back to that before this release is complete.

I used TSOLEliot's terrific 1977 set as a base, but as you'll notice I am redoing all ratings, creating some new players, and altering some likenesses.

I will post updates as I set up each division. I'm on pace to be done in 6 weeks, but that is pretty optimistic. I plan on taking a few breaks to actually play the game as I'm chomping at the bit to try out a few of the rosters posted.

What do you mean "actually play the game", that's silly. You want to PLAY the game when there's work to be done. that's crazy

enjoy the classic rosters from the vault we all have been enjoying Boston on your new PS5!!

Re: Classic Rosters - MLB 23

OK, a new WIP file has been uploaded as the AL East and Central are done for my Sensational 70s set. Remember, done is defined at this point by ratings and likenesses. Equipment edits and uniform numbers will come later. There are extra players beyond my designated 30-man rosters for each franchise, but ratings and likenesses have not been edited for them. Might do them down the road but not a priority right now.

Re: Classic Rosters - MLB 23

Ok, the AL is completed in my Sensational 70s set (uniform numbers, equipment, ratings, and likenesses). I still have the Astros slot to deal with but I fill those extra slots at the end as the Astros are moved to the NL West.

Progress has been slowed by CAP making and adjusting likenesses. Not optimistic for a pre-Christmas release, but it could be close. I'll have it out before the New Year.

Re: Classic Rosters - MLB 23

All players have now been sorted for all teams except for the 4 non-era franchises in my Sensational 70s set. I should have the NL East finished tomorrow. I'll fill in the non-era franchises with leftover players at the end of the project. I have a couple of uniform/logo sets in the vault as well for this project. Won't be long now!

Re: Classic Rosters - MLB 23

The Sensational 70s project is rolling along. The AL is complete along with the NL East except non-era slots. A WIP file has been uploaded.
