Gibby Saves-Ducks lead series 3-1 against Avalanche

Rookie lead Ducks past Colorado

Anaheim 3 vs. Colorado 2

John Gibson continues his outstanding playoff run. With the Ducks up 3-2 with less than a minute left, Gibson made four separate amazing saves to clinch the win for Anaheim.

With the Avs up 1-0 midway through the first, stay-at-home defenceman Josh Manson found himself in unfamiliar territory, and picked up his own rebound to tie the game.

In the 3rd, Captain Getzy scored his 3rd of the playoffs, as he continues to be a valuable member of the Ducks.

Minutes later, the Ducks extended their lead with rookie Jamie Drysdale's second of the postseason. Averaging over 25 minutes a night so far, Drysdale continues to be leaned on heavily.

An Andre Burakovsky goal with 3:13 remaining seemed to give the Avs new life, as they continuously put the pressure on Anaheim through the final few minutes. It was John Gibson who shut the door though. Gibby, who didn't see a ton of action for most of the game, saved the game with multiple highlight reel saves, including one reminiscent of Marc-Andre Fleury's Stanley Cup clinching save from Pittsburgh many years ago.

Up next: The two teams head back to Colorado for a Friday night clash, where Anaheim has a chance to clinch.

Quotables: "Everyone here understands their role, and none of them want to let the guys sitting next to them down." -GM Pat Verbeek

Ducks dispatch Avalanche with dominant performance

Silf, Terry both score twice in blowout

Anaheim 7 @ Colorado 3

Jakub Silfverberg scored twice early, to put the Ducks up 3-1 after the first period.

Goals by Sonny Milano, Troy Terry (2), Reilly Smith, and Josh Manson helped pace the Ducks, booking them a trip to the Western Confernce Finals.

Up next: Anaheim will face the winner of the Calgary/Vegas series.

Quotables: "It's just business. We're focused on a singular goal, and this is just one step toward that goal." -Ducks winger Troy Terry

Re: Ducks Dynasty

Playoff Recap-Confernce Final matchups set:

Western Conference

Anaheim: 4
Colorado: 1

The Ducks shock the Avs. A total team effort, including excellent goaltending and balanced scoring has put Anaheim as the surprise of the playoffs.

Calgary: 4
Vegas: 3

The Calgary Flames trailed their semi-final series against Vegas 3-1 before they hit their stride. Elias Lindholm continues his playoff dominance, with 16 pts in 12 games, and Jacob Markstrom with a 2.31 GAA and .928 sv% lead the Flames as they'll host the Ducks with a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals on the line.

Eastern conference:

Washington: 4
Philadelphia: 0

Alex Ovechkin's journey already includes a Stanley Cup ring, but the future hall of famer continues to lead the Caps, putting up 8 goals and 8 assists so far through 10 playoff games.

Montreal:4
Florida: 1

The Montreal Canadiens are one of the surprises of the playoffs for a second consecutive year. As Anaheim has shown, mediocre regular seasons mean nothing. You just have to make it. Jeff Petry has led the Habs with 14 pts in 12 games, and Carey Price has been reasonably solid with a 2.91 GAA and .918 sv%. They'll be the underdog once again against Washington, but that's clearly not a role that scares them.

Gibson shuts out the Flames for 1-0 series lead

Henrique and Jaskin score for Ducks

Anaheim 3 @ Calgary 0

John Gibson's strong playoffs continued with a 27 save shut out in game 1 against the Flames on Wednesday night.

Adam Henrique scored twice, including the game winner, and Dmitri Jaskin scored his first of the playoffs to lead the Ducks offensively.

A game filled with plenty of physical play included two separate fights, which were both set off by dangerous plays by the Flames.

Rookie center Benoit-Olivier Groulx was knocked out of the game midway through the second after a cheap shot by Matthew Tkachuk. Maxime Comtois was also knocked out of the game for a period of time, but returned in the 3rd.

Groulx will miss game 2, and will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Anaheim. Comtois is a game time decision.

Back to back: Anaheim plays their 3rd back to back game of the playoffs on Thursday night.

Quotables: "We certainly want our guys to stand up for each other, but we need to make sure we're not losing guys pointlessly." -Head Coach Dallas Eakins

Huge comeback for Ducks as they take game 2

3 goals in final 5 minutes stuns Calgary

Anaheim 4 @ Calgary 3

Trailing 3-1 heading into the 3rd period, the Anaheim Ducks absolutely dominated the Calgary flames, outshooting them 13-1 in the final frame.

Flames goaltender Jacob Markstrom held the fort, until a Trevor Zegras powerplay goal with 4:58 remaining gave Anaheim the life they were looking for.

Less than two minutes later, Jakub Silfverberg came through again to tie the game.

With time winding down, Reilly Smith grabbed a loose puck, cut across the crease, and put the Ducks up for good with 20 second left.

Up next: With all of the moment, the two teams head to Anaheim for a Saturday matinee.

Quotables: "You can have all the momentum in the world, but it doesn't matter once you hit the ice." -Ducks Captain Ryan Getzlaf.

Ducks one win away from Stanley Cup Finals

Anaheim scores early and often to blow out Calgary

Anaheim 6 vs. Calgary 3

Josh Manson put up a career high 5 point night tonight, helping Anaheim just out to a 3-0 series lead.

Manson, with 1 goal and 4 assists, led the Ducks to a 6-3 win.

Reilly Smith, who was shifted to the third line earlier in the day, also scored twice for the Ducks.

Trevor Zegras put up the first multi-point playoff game of his career, scoring once and assisting on Benoit-Olivier Groulx's 2nd goal of the playoffs, in his return to the Ducks lineup.

Up Next: Anaheim could become the first team in over 30 years to reach the Finals in less than 14 games.

Quotables: "We thought it was time to see if we could shake up the offence, and it seemed to work." -Ducks Coach Dallas Eakins

Ducks sweep Flames, heading to the Finals

Team will make 3rd Finals trip in Franchise History

Anaheim 6 vs. Calgary 2

The Ducks are heading back to the Stanley Cup finals. 6 seperate players scored for Anaheim, to cap off a Conference Finals sweep of the Calgary Flames.

Trevor Zegras scored 20 seconds into the game, which started a flurry of Anaheim goals, that inevitably led to Flames starter Jacob Markstrom being pulled in the 2nd.

A Matthew Tkachuk low hit on Troy Terry knocked the Ducks star winger out of the game early in the 2nd period, continuing the trend of missed calls throughout the series.

The Ducks return to the Finals for the first time since 2007, when they beat the Ottawa Senators to win their only Cup.

Up next: To be determined.

Quotables: "Very proud of our guys. We matched their phyicality, but kept our noses clean. Their were a lot of instances over the past few games where we could have ended up in the box, but we kept our heads and we're moving on." -Ducks Assistant Captain Adam Henrique
