Predators Lose to Wings, Rinne out

NASHVILLE - It is never fun losing to Detroit on home ice, but especially not when your franchise goaltender makes a spectactular save, only to stay down on the ice. Pekka Rinne played 42:14 of the game, but had to be helped off the ice by teammates Jon Blum and Bryan McCabe. Once evaluated it was determiend that he had pulled his groin, and is expected to be out until sometime after Christmas.

The Predators have called up Jeremy Smith from Milwaukee to take Rinne's place. Anders Lindback will get the majority of the starts until Rinne's return. GM David Poile stated there were "No plans" to aquire another goaltender in Rinne's absence.

Also, rookie defenseman Roman Josi was sent to Milwaukee, to pave way for Francis Bouillon's return to the lineup.
