I like that TopSpin has injuries and stamina in career mode, and travel takes energy, too. I'd like to see these factors put into the golf game.

I don't like that they are really forcing you to grind like crazy to level up, while dangling microtransaction carrots in front of you to spend money to advance quicker. The IGN review of TopSpin really criticized the microtransaction aspects of the game...and this way of doing things is likely not going anywhere unfortunately.

And, of course, single player career mode requires a persistent online connection...just wonderful.
It would have to be HB Studios taking from Hanger 13. TopSpin blows away PGA across the board from what I've seen. It has depth and a lot of the little things that lead to a more complete experience. Seems like they decided if the graphics can't be AAA worthy, then the rest should make up for it.

It definitely sounds like TopSpin does have a much deeper experience, especially in the career mode side of things.

And while Hanger 13 and HB are the separate studios that make these games, they're both owned by 2K...I'd really like to see some sharing going on between their in-house studios to make these games better. HB could use some help in the career mode side of things, and a stamina/injury system, along with a variety of training games, coaches, etc. could really enhance PGA 2K's immersion.

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions

Beach--

One of the things I like about Topspin 2K25 is that you can take your time progressing through seasons--even when there is another one released. There is something I want in the last tier of season 1, but I can rest assured that I won't miss out on it due to lack of time spent on gameplay (I don't get to fire up the PS5 as much as I'd like).

I don't think it's as good as Topspin 4 was at its time, but it's an enjoyable title in my opinion. I just hope the next one's not Topspin 2K37 after another long hiatus.
