Patriots Rookie RB J.J. Taylor Calls First Game Learning Experience
Only two RBs dressed for the New England Patriots week 16 win over the Buffalo Bills, and only one finished the week injury-free, rookie J.J. Taylor.
Veteran Lamar Miller joining James White and Sony Michel on the injury list with a dislocated hip, suffered in the first quarter.
The undrafted free agent averaged 2.5 yards per carry for 86 yards on 24 attempts and ran for 1 touchdown.
“There’s a lot I need to work on,” Taylor said after the game.
“There’s some stuff that you can only learn as a rookie in the game. There was certain pressures that we talked about in meetings, but when it’s out on the field, they did a completely different thing. Adjusting to that in the game. Learning to take what you can at the same time, too.”
