Bulldogs Melt Down on Rainy New Year's Afternoon in Jacksonville, Lose to Kansas State, 27-16
JACKSONVILLE, FL - Kansas State (9-4) finished their season on the right note with a dominant 27-16 victory this rainy afternoon over No. 25 Yale (9-4) in the 2023 Toyota Gator Bowl. The Wildcats led by as many as 21 points in the fourth quarter before Yale cut the lead to 11 points at the final whistle. Yale only totaled 54 yards of offense in the first half, and finished the game with just 178 yards as the Bulldogs' offense continued to struggle with Chase Smith unable to suit up at quarterback. Jon Jackson, who started today for Yale, passed for just 84 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, and his only touchdown pass came with just 35 seconds left in the game. Yale head coach Lee Williamson inserted third-string quarterback Tony Traina to start the second half in an effort to jumpstart the offense with a different look, but he completed just one of his three attempts and threw a boneheaded interception that set up the Wildcats up with a short field, leading to another touchdown. Kansas State got much better quarterback play as redshirt junior Dennis Moore passed for 114 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 86 yards. Running back Tre Clark also added 96 yards and a touchdown running the football as the Wildcats totaled 188 rushing yards as a team. Kansas State led just 6-3 at halftime, but went on a 21-3 run to start the second half, culminating with Curtis Harris' 36-yard interception return off a Jon Jackson pass that put the Wildcats up 27-6 with just 6:51 left in the game. With the loss, Yale finishes the season with a 9-4 record and will likely finish outside the top 25 for the first time since the 2014-2015 season. Today's loss is also their first bowl loss in four seasons. Ohio State outgained Iowa 477-214 and held the Hawkeyes to a mere 24 yards rushing. |

Re: Yale Bulldogs (NCAA Football 07)
West Virginia and Colorado definitely got the short end of the stick. Tough end to the season going 1-4 in the final 5 games. One thing I enjoy is that you're not just winning the title every season. It makes the dynasty more fun to read and follow!

Re: Yale Bulldogs (NCAA Football 07)
I made some changes to try to make things a bit more difficult since, like you said, I don't really want to win titles every year. That gets old and just isn't that fun to play after a while. The changes I made seem to be having their intended effect; I might've even made things a bit too difficult!
