Re: Your Favorite Christopher Nolan Film?

In terms of rewatchability, Inception and The Dark Knight are easily my top two. I've seen those two so many times at this point and it's always exciting to dive back into them again.

The Prestige is my favorite movie overall though (maybe of any director really).

I think I've seen all of his films with the exception of Dunkirk.

Interstellar is one of the best films I've ever seen!

The Dark Knight, but I enjoy rewatching it every chance I get because of Heath Ledger. his turn as the Joker is the one I wanted from Jack Nicholson back in the late 80's. heck, the performance Ledger gave was the one I practically expected from Nicholson because of his own performance in the Shining. for me, Ledger's turn as the Joker took me by complete surprise because I never thought he had those kinds of chops. wickedly delicious puts him right up there with Darth Vader all-time as 1-2 on my movie villain list

Re: Your Favorite Christopher Nolan Film?

also, it'd be interesting for Blzer to update his list to include Tenet

I’m on my phone so I’m not quick to move the list over, but I did so in the Tenet thread.

Re: Your Favorite Christopher Nolan Film?

We watched The Prestige last weekend. I had recently read the book for the first time and had not seen the movie for five years or so.

Considering the cast it feels crazy to say it, but I feel like this and Insomnia are two of Nolan's most underrated or overlooked works.

I think The Prestige is Christopher Nolan's best made film. It's not my favorite of them, but I do acknowledge its production and I really do love it.

Insomnia is very, very good, but also probably is most straightforward work. Maybe it's because it's not his screenplay that it doesn't have all of those little quirks involved. I also have not seen the original version, and can't compare the two. I did like when he was making R-rated movies though, and wish he'd be okay returning to that format at some point.
