I fired up my iPad at work today to show someone how it works and went into my music directory to play a song, lo and behold I see the same damned Tool song like 5 times. After I've deleted it, I know I did. This stuff has got to get fixed, it's driving me insane! Not to mention all the missing artwork.

So I googled it real quick and a program called TidySongs came up, it's free for 50 songs and then $39 for the full program. Can anyone say yay or nay if they've used this program? Or recommend any others?

Btw - I've spent hours trying to clean up this stuff manually and honestly I'm just done with it, so please don't tell me how to do it manually, I know how and I've tried every trick that way, I'm ready to just get a program to fix it.

I really hate when iTunes does this. Took me forever to delete all my dups.

File > Display Duplicates

Advanced > Get Album Artwork

I just tried the manual way one last time, deleted 2 freakin' gigs of duplicates! I swear they seem to come back though, and no i'm not importing my library again either. I'm also attempting to get the album artwork again. We'll see.

I'll have to look for that thread but I posted this from work where i can't use the search function.

How do I do this to the songs already on my iPod? Do I have to delete all my songs and drag them back in?

the only setting I know that could do it is in the advanced tab in preferences. the "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" one. I keep that unchecked, same as the "keep iTunes media folder organized" option(i don't want iTunes messing with my music library).

but I only use iTunes to sync my iPod. I don't use it for anything else. so I don't know it as well as others.
