Re: EA SPORTS FC 24 OS Community Sliders

Question to this group, given the OS sliders are designed for career mode.

I use WC, with player based difficulty on for away games and neutral sites (eg a cup semi or final). I have reached the champions league semi and am finding the computer seems to play well above WC.

Does the cpu juice performance in champions league finals or maybe an FA cup finals? Feels like I am playing on legendary or ultimate - the defense is impenetrable and the offense has vision beyond anything I have seen in the game. The earlier rounds were not like this.

Thanks!

for sure the AI gets boosted in finals, I've noticed this for years. There's so much scripting in Fifa they don't even try to hide it well.

Well I don't think that is a problem at all. Team usually play at their best in the final stages of a competition. They can perform different from a league game or a early round cup game.

I think this is a Win from EA to use the scripting in those situations. It is logical and realistic and gives you an extra motivation and satisfaction when you win the trophy.

Re: EA SPORTS FC 24 OS Community Sliders

Has anyone else noticed a distinct difference in how the game “feels” when playing Career Mode compared to Kick Off?

I’m playing a CM with Real Zaragoza on Ultimate, Default game speed and certain aspects of the gameplay feels off, specifically the way my players move, dribble and pass. It feels very janky and “skatey”, as in the classic FIFA animations that we’re all used to by now where the players look like they’re skating on ice.

However, when I quit the CM and go into a Kick Off match with Zaragoza, the gameplay feels completely different - much smoother in terms of movement, passing and dribbling, with no skating animations (or at least significantly reduced). Admittedly the KO games are on Legendary due to not being able to play on Ultimate outside of CM, but I know it’s not the difficulty having this effect because I previously tried my CM on Legendary and it felt the same.

It’s got to be something to do with either the new game mechanics around tactical vision and coaching boosts, or sharpness. FWIW all of my players in the CM are at 100 sharpness as I carefully manage the training plans, so it’s not that they’re lacking match sharpness etc - unless it’s the sharpness itself causing the unnatural feel compared to Kick Off.

As for tactical vision, I’m using Tiki Taka but have not hired a single coach as I don’t want the stupid boosts, so my players have +1/+2 at most. I’m pretty sure I tried reverting to the “standard” tactical vision previously to see if this changed anything and as far as I can remember, it unfortunately didn’t.

It’s a shame because the game feels amazing when playing Kick Off, everything feels smooth and the sliders work brilliantly. There just seems to be something about Career Mode that starts messing with the gameplay itself and unfortunately it makes it very difficult to find it as enjoyable.
