Preview.
Chicago and Milwaukee both look to take early control over the Central Division in the East, both are 2-0 and are share the Central lead. Chicago holds the upper hand defensivly, but Milwaukee's Redd, who is a lot like a taller version of Ben Gordon, can put up points with the best of them, and the Bucks will need his presence to be felt in this one to come away with the win. We haven't seen much out of Ben Gordon this season, so it's just a matter of time before he goes off for 30 or more. It should be a tough game for both teams, but only one will come out on top.
Results. Chicago 105, Milwaukee 113.
Chicago played their best basketball in the first half, holding the Bucks to 9 points in the first quarter, then 31 at half time. From the looks on the faces of the Bulls players it looked as if they thought they had already won, but were also tired from the great defense they played. It showed in the third when they put up 40, led by Redd who hit 2 straight 3 pointers about midway through the 3rd quarter to bring the game within 9. The Bucks kept working and finally pulled even with Chicago with about 5 minutes left in the game, then Chicago fell completly apart and didn't score in the last 4 minutes of the game, until Ben Gordon drained a pointless buzzer beating 3 pointer. The main reason Chicago lost tonight is because they had one of their god awful shooting droughts, these are the nights they need a big man, also the fact that Chicago's bench didn't play as well as they could, Nocioni the only bright spot with 10 points and 6 rebounds - respectable off the bench. Let's see if Chicago can bounce back with their next game against the Clippers.
