THEE Ohio State University Scandal Thread

It's from a Yahoo! report:

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/footbal...osuprobe030711

Not sure what to make of this. It seems like all of college athletics is being declared dirty at the same time. I don't think any school is innocent.

They need to get rid of the NCAA and replace it with a truely independent group who has real power. Get a group with some real investigation and then start punishing these teams. Start by kicking the players out, no juco or lower option, they are done. Fine the schools real money and if they get so many they are done for 1 year and longer based on number of violations.

Re: Report says that Tressel knew of NCAA violations in April

It is a voluntary organization, what schools would join the group you just described above?

Reading Mandel's column on this tonight doesn't make it sound good for Tressel/OSU at all. I don't know if anything will come of this, but you can bet it's going to be an interesting next few months in Columbus.

Tressel's shadiness grows. Hopefully that will allow Ohio State Football fans that disagree with Tressel to let their voices heard and not just "LOLZ, TRESSEL IS GODZ!"

It wouldn't have to be a new organization, just kick the people out that are currently running the NCAA. The problem comes from the fact that most of them have strong ties to schools and have held AD or similar roles for schools and conferences.

They also have no set penalties. It is all subjective and differs by schools, which causes a lot of issues. Release a set standard and then schools know the rules and what punishment they receive for breaking them.
