Let them bitch. This pay-to-read wave is the biggest bunch of horse you-know-what going. The thought of paying for someone else's opinion of a toy is comical. And the sad part is, the only people paying are probably those who can least afford to. I used to be a fan of the IGN site, but I haven't so much as peeked over there since they started this. I know they put stuff up for the general public after a while, but I won't support them. Do you pay to watch ABC or FOX? No, because they garner enough support from advertisers to make it a win-win-win situation for the network, the viewer, and the advertiser. The internet is filled with a lot of lazy friggin people.

I thought it would be around 9. I rarely see IGN giving sports games getting much higher than that. As the article says, while its the best football game they've ever played, theres always something to improve upon.

he said it was near perfect but he gave it a 8.9? 2002 got a 9.0. Whats going on?

I saw it too. it was kinda a strange review. he gave it a 7 for sound but talked up the 117 fight songs and everything. anyway, the game is gonna be sweet, i can't wait!

Yeah, ignore the score. Reviewers are getting more hesitant to throw out 9.5s for sports titles because they come out year after year. If you give it a 9.8, then what do you give NCAA 2005 to distinguish it?

Sounds like there's oodles of new goodies to make us crap our britches next week.

I don't blame IGN for doing this, I won't pay for it but I see where they're coming from. With the economy in the state it's in $ for ad revenue to support a site as big as IGN is hard to find so to make things the best for those who choose to pay they made thier service subscription based.
