I think it'd be more serious if this so called "fraudulent" class was still being offered in it's former form and student athletes were still taking it. Just because a class was easier with a one year professor teaching it doesn't mean it was "fraudulent".

When I said fraudulent, I meant the African American studies class. The naval weapons class, imo, only looks suspicious at the moment. If the African American course had not been found fraudulent then no one gives a crap about the naval weapons class. I would be concerned there is more info coming, not about this one article. It's the sum of the problem that may be the worst of it all.

Yeah, I don't really know when corrective action took place for the AFAM courses, but the NCAA already knew about those when it ruled on the football sanctions. There were both student athletes and non-student athletes in those courses, so it was an overall school department issue and not an athletic one.

I wish UNC were Kentucky, they'd only have to worry about 3 or 4 classes for the major contributors on the team during their collegiate "career".

Re: UNC Academic Fraud info

This article gives a little more detail about some of the problems uncovered so far and last year's President of the National Association of Academic Advisers for Athetics thinks the NCAA has to go back in to investigate due to the newest revelations.

Meant to add: I don't think that much a deal should be made about someone telling a player what to write in a paper as I am positive that happens everywhere for athletes and normal students. But it is just more to be piled onto everything that is being uncovered.

Re: UNC Academic Fraud info

What's that? Double Standards actually happen in the NCAA?

How can let this happen??? This is so absurd!

I can't believe the NCAA's hammer hasn't come down yet. There is so much fishy going on. But it's UNC, I guess, so it must be okay to give out free grades, etc.

And, yes, I'm quite aware that most schools do similar things, but it's not cheating unless you get caught, right?

It's not cheating if you are Duke/UNC.
