Elliot Williams transferring out of Duke

These rumors started flying around here about the middle of the season. What was funny was that right after those rumors got their loudest, suddenly he was in the starting lineup. Hmmmm.....

Kinda tasteless responses so far, but what else can you expect when the subject at hand is Duke related.

From what I've read his mother is extremely sick and he wants to go somewhere closer to home. While the on-court loss is a huge blow I wish E-Will the best of luck wherever he goes and hope that his mom gets better ASAP.

I spoke with him on facebook and yes its a family medical reason on why he's leaving due to his mother being extremely ill. I could careless about how this effects Duke next season. Yes we are down to just 2 guards, and we are gonna be a bigger team than normal. I however, think family is bigger than basketball in this situation. Stop with the conspiracy theories, and the athleticism jokes as this is a serious situation.

Sucks for dook because I thought EW was pretty dang good.

But there had been rumors about him transferring for months now. Certainly a big loss for their team.

If I may be 'that guy', absolutely no one in this thread is making fun of Williams' situation specifically; that would be tasteless. Further, I don't think it's a stretch to say Duke is going to be in a bind for athletic wing players next season with E-Mail gone, joking tone or not.

With regard to the news of this thread, I do hope Williams' family situation resolves itself in a positive manner and he can continue to have a successful collegiate basketball career wherever he ends up; he strikes me as a good kid.
