Re: Coaching Career of William Munny

I don't know if you've said this before, but what playbooks are you running? and Waddell looks like he will be a stud. That's a great first game for him.

Re: Coaching Career of William Munny

I never posted my plans.

Offense- Custom Plan built off the Bengals offense, It is probably the biggest playbook I've ever used with like 70 plays. I added the Maryland I runs, and the runs from the Full House set. Previously, with smaller playbooks I had found myself falling into routines...just because there wasn't enough plays to really change things up.

Defense- Custom Plan built off the 4-2-5 plan. I really like the Strong Safety blitzes in the 4-2, but a lot of my plays are run out of the 4-3 or Goal Line...I like the 5 DLs in Goal line and sub in CB's or Safeties for LB if I think its going to be a pass.

In regards to actual playcalling, I sub in lots of guys all over. I also flip and do adjustments a lot...I've found on Defense it makes a big difference and keeps things more interesting.

Well I did, then I had to re do it, and lost out on Stevie Dunlap...but Turner and Norwood should suffice. Turner is a little girl, he constantly wants to be subbed. Admittedly, a very fast, powerful little girl, but a little girl nonetheless.

Re: Coaching Career of William Munny

Week 1:

Atlanta Falcons (4-12 last season)
@
Washington Redskins (7-9 last season)

The Falcons are the first to score, when HB Jerious Norwood takes the pitch and goes in from 8yds out. Rookie K Torry Brownlee adds the PAT. Falcons 7 Redskins 0.

The Redskins are moving the ball, but can't seem to keep it going. The Falcons take advantage and extend their lead with a 13yd pass from QB Matt Ryan to WR Roddy White. K Brownlee adds the PAT. Falcons 14 Redskins 0.

WR Malcolm Kelly and QB Jason Campbell are taking rookie CB Demario Waddell to school. CB D. Waddell doesn't look anything like a Heisman winner out there. WR Malcolm Kelly is faking Waddell out of his shoes. QB Jason Campbell hooks up with WR. Kelly for a 9yd TD strike. K B. Coutu adds the PAT to cut the Falcons' lead to 7. Falcons 14 Redskins 7.

With time running out in the half, QB Matt Ryan goes into the hurry up, and gets Atlanta to the 9yd line with 2 second on the clock, no time outs. K T. Brownlee adds the 26yd FG. Falcons 17 Redskins 7 at the half.

QB Jason Campbell and WR Malcolm Kelly continue to have their way with rookie CB Demario Waddell, then all of the sudden, Waddell wakes up. QB Campbell throws for WR Kelly on a fade, CB Waddell steps in front, interception and then it is off to the races. HB Clinton Portis gets close, but dives and misses, CB Demario Waddell goes in from 68yds out. K T. Brownlee adds the PAT to make it Falcons 24 Redskins 7.

CB Demario Wadell wastes no time getting back to endzone, intercepting Campbell on the next series, and taking that one to house as well. But wait, there is a flag. Defensive Pass Interference on CB Waddell. Redskins ball on the 37yd line. QB Campbell takes advantage of CB Waddell being winded by hitting WR Malcolm Kelly for a 37yd TD. The PAT brings it to Falcons 24 Redskins 14.

The Falcons drive down the field and add another score when HB Michael Turner busts one up the middle for 18yds (Brownlee PAT.) Falcons 31 Redskins 14

The Redskins get the ball back, and immediately go to work. HB Clinton Portis makes a few runs, but the bulk of the work is done through the air. This proves to be a mistake. CB Demario Waddell picks off QB Campbell in the redzone and takes it back 90yds for a TD. Falcons 38 Redskins 14

The Falcons have gone into clock mode. They have this one won now they just need to get to the end of the game. Atlanta drives to the 6yd line, and rather than go for the 4th and 1 conversion send in K T. Brownlee. 23yd FG. Falcons 41 Redskins 14.

QB Jason Campbell hooks up with WR Malcolm Kelly again for an 11yd TD. Falcons 41 Redskins 21.

The Redskins can't get anything else going and the Falcons a FG and last second HB M. Turner TD to end the game. Falcons 51 Redskins 21.

The Falcons host the Eagles next week (The Redskins travel to Dallas.)

Re: Coaching Career of William Munny

Atlanta Falcons Trade News

Coach Munny trades CB Fred Smoot to the Jets for 2011 3rd round pick and 7th round picks. Not a bad profit, considering the Flacons acquired Smoot from the Redskins for 5th and 6th round picks in 2010. CB Smoot was brought in to compete with CB Chris Houston and CB Terrence McGee, but came in out of shape and it was soon clear his days in Atlanta were numbered.

Smoot makes the third CB and 6th DB the Falcons have traded away. CB Chevis Jackson was sent to the Patriots (5th, 7th round picks in 2009). The Patriots also acquired Falcons' FS Erik Coleman (6th, 7th round picks in 2009). FS Thomas DeCoud was sent to the Saints (6th, 7th in 2010), while CB Dominique Foxworth was dealt to the 49ers (2010 7th, 2011 4th). The Rams got the final DB, SS Lawyer Milloy (2009 4th round pick).

CB Chris Houston is the only DB, who was on the Falcon's roster last year.

Coach Munny makes changes on the DL by letting the Texans have DE Jamaal Anderson for a 2010 2nd rounder and a 2011 6th round pick. DE J. Anderson lost his starting job when the Falcons traded for DE Mark Anderson from the Bears (2009 7th rounder, and 2010 4th rounder). DE Anderson continued to move down the depth chart with the drafting of DEs Antonio Perez and Artis Drexler.

Re: Coaching Career of William Munny

Week 2

Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)
@
Atlanta Falcons (1-0)

The Eagles come to the Georgia Dome, for the Falcons home opener.

The Falcons score first on a highlight reel play from HB Michael Turner. The Falcons line up in the Maryland I, HB M. Turner takes the ball heads off tackle, sees MLB Gino King spins, reverses field, makes it to the outside edge, stiff arms SS Kevin Drummond, and goes 66yds for the TD.

Falcons 7 Eagles 0

The Eagles respond when QB Donovan McNabb finds WR Kevin Curtis for a 31yd TD. Atlanta has CB Terrence McGee covering WR K. Curtis and he's struggling.

Falcons 7 Eagles 7

The Falcons march down the field and score on a 7yd pitch play to HB M. Turner.

Falcons 14 Eagles 7

The Eagles respond with a long drive and score of their own. HB Brian Westbrook throws a block, then slips uncovered out of the backfield. Easy 16yd TD pass for QB D. McNabb.

Falcons 14 Eagles 14

CB/KR Demario Waddell gives the lead back to the Falcons with a 86yd kickoff return TD to end the half.

Falcons 21 Eagles 14

The Falcons lose WR Marvin Harrison on the first play of the 3rd quarter. He looks to have a chest injury. Even with Harrison out, the Falcons add another score when QB Matt Ryan finds rookie training camp invitee WR Paul Glaser on a wheel route for an 8yd TD.

Falcons 28 Eagles 14

The Falcons knock QB Donavan McNabb out of the game on a not particularly violent sack by rookie SS Jerome Bartell. For some reason, the Eagles decide to go with 1st year pro, Al Bruce rather than Kevin Kolb. Bruce lacks McNabbs mobility and that proves to be a problem. Bruce will be sacked 6 times in a single quarter helping to insure the Eagles can't make a comeback.

The last quarter of play is focussed on defense. The Eagles force 3 in out, after 3 in out. The Falcons blitz like crazy, so even though Philly QB A. Bruce completes every pass he throws (7-7 for 102yds) he manages only 1 first down.

Falcons 28 Eagles 14 Final

Coach Munny and the Falcons host the Buccaneers next week. The Ealges host the Cowboys.

Re: Coaching Career of William Munny

Week 3

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0)
@
Atlanta Falcons (2-0)

Coach Munny's old team comes to the Georgia Dome, looking to extend their winning streak. The Bucs look a lot different making some big personnell changes.

QB Jeff Garcia retired, leaving backup QB Brian Griese as the heir apparent. HC Bruce Dehaven wasn't sold on Griese, Luke McCown or Josh Johnson, so they drafted Jon Heatley from USF and brought in 1st year pro Steve Battle to compete in training camp. Suprising everyone, QB Steve Battle won the starting job, despite Griese being the more gifted passer.

Tampa Bay wasn't afraid to spend money in Free Agency and brought in pass rushers Osi Umenyiora and Leonard Little. HC Dehaven is going to be counting on Leonard, Umenyiora and Gaines Adams creating plenty of pressure.

Battle starts the game off moving the ball with ease. He finishes the first drive with an exclaimation point when he finds WR Chris Henry for a 32yd TD. Rookie CB Demario Waddell went for the pick, and left Henry with a clear path to the endzone.

TB 7 ATL 0

CB/KR Demario Waddell redeems himself with a 94yd kickoff return for a TD.

TB 7 ATL 7

CB/KR A. Talib says, let me do you one better, and returns a kickoff return 100yds for a TD.

TB 14 ATL 7, thats 21 points in under a minute folks...this is going to get crazy!

The Falcons slow it down, and get to the redzone before grinding to a halt. Coach Munny sends in K. Brownlee on a 4th and 4, on the 13yd line. Better to get the 3 now, there is still a lot of game to play.

TB 14 ATL 10

Falcons D forces a stop. Atlanta turns the ball over to HB M. Turner and HB J. Norwood who run left, right, and middle. Ending the drive with a HB M. Turner 4yd TD run.

TB 14 ATL 17

Another stop by the defense, and run heavy drive extends the Falcons' lead, when HB M. Turner goes in from 6yds.

TB 14 ATL 24

The Buccaneers go into the 2 minute drill, and it doesn't take long for them to score. TB undrafted FA rookie WR, Jordan Holt gets behind the safeties, QB Steve Battle hits him and its a 73yd TD.

TB 21 ATL 24

With less than 40 seconds left in the half, Coach Munny decides to see what they can do. One play later, they are in the endzone. QB Matt Ryan finds WR Marvin Harrison on the slant route, Harrison muscles his way out of a tackle and goes 67yds for the TD.

TB 21 ATL 31 at the half

CB/KR Demario Waddell starts the 3rd quarter off in style with a 97yd kickoff return for a TD.

TB 21 ATL 38

QB Steve Battle makes a bad throw and rookie SS Jerome Bartell makes him pay. Bartell takes the pick back 37yds for a TD.

TB 21 ATL 45

Coach Munny is running the ball and the clock with a commanding lead. The Falcons grind to a halt on the 22yd line and K Torry Brownlee adds a 39yd FG

TB 21 ATL 48

The Buccaneers can't get anything going and turn the ball over on downs. Tampa Bay knows the Falcons are going to run it, and hammer both HB M. Turner and HB J. Norwood for losses. TB's stout 4th quarter defense will stop either back from making 100yds rushing, but it won't stop K T. Brownlee from nailing a 51yd FG to end the game.

TB 21 ATL 51

DE John Abraham was injured early in the game and preliminary word is he suffered a tricep strain. This injury could spell Abraham's final days as a Falcon as Coach Munny doesn't like guys who can't stay on the field.

Next week the Falcons host Drew Brees and the Saints. The Buccaneers face the undefeated Rams.
