[Barzalmode]

An MLB the Show 24 Franchise Mode Journal starting with the New York Mets organization.

Beginning in Spring Training with default rosters w/injuries, the emphasis is on playing to win. Although, the hope is for a realistic outcome, there will be NO slider adjustments to compensate for any outlying stats or any weaknesses I may have.

Settings are: Simulation Gameplay Style, Legend Difficulty Hitting/Pitching, Zone Hitting Interface, Meter Pitching Interface

Each game will be played and documented here with a quick-edit style video.

GM contracts are "ON". So, if I fail the organization and I'm removed as GM, I will play with another team if that is an option (I believe it is) or I will end the campaign.

First game of the Spring. A close one til the end as Houston took the lead twice to complete the comeback. Each team threw over 150 pitches taking over an hour and a half to conclude. I'm not complaining, but this is going to be a long season.

Third game of the spring and Power continues to surge. 2 more homers in a 6-2 win over the Nats.



More on Power: We are ranked 3rd in the league according to the in-game chart and this is without J.D. Martinez who remains a free agent. I would like to replicate his signing, but the budget aspect of the game could be problematic. Any advice would be welcome.

Make it 3 in a row as we continue to roll over our weaker opponents. Games are well within reason, but our pitching is exceeding expectation. We'll stay home to play the Cardinals again and see if Sonny Gray's control issues have been resolved. He gave up 5 BBs in 3 innings when we faced him last in an 8-0 win 5 days ago at Clover Park.

Aggressive base running backfired and 15 strikeouts left base runners stranded as Sonny Gray and the Cardinals left St. Lucie with a 3-2 extra innings win. We'll head out tomorrow to CACTI Park for a rematch with the Atros.

A bounce back in a wild one. Made a few goofs but Hader and Presley handed it to me in the 10th for a 10 to 6 finish. 4 more homeruns, but still middle of the pack. Went with commentary for this one and it went into echo mode during the capture. Not sure about the issue, but we'll see going forward.

Another seemingly easy win. The CPU can get plenty of hits but can't get the runners in. We are playing weaker teams in MIA, WSH and STL. HOU is, so far, are toughest opponent (as it should be). There as was an 8-2 double play when Bader threw out a runner at home from shallow center field on the tag after catching a line drive.
