Cleveland Guardians 2054 May

We’ve had a great stretch of baseball recently. We’ve went 13-3 over the past two and half weeks. We haven’t blown too many teams out, we’ve just played great baseball and have had contributions from many different players.

May 2054 Calendar

TRANSACTIONS

May 11 – Signed LHP Mikel Alonso (65/D/27) as a minor league free agent and assigned him to Triple-A Columbus

May 24 – Optioned RHP Elvis Fuentes to Triple-A Columbus, Recalled RHP Solomon Owens

May 25 – Activated RHP Ricky Holmes from 15-Day IL, Optioned RHP Solomon Owens to Triple-A Columbus

Game Highlight

Even after some lead changes, we kept fighting back. We got hits from all of our starters and our pitching never let it get out of hand.

Cleveland Guardians 2054 June

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to update. There was no shortage of games played since my last update. We’ve nearly reached the All-Star Break! We ended May with a sweep over the talented Mariners and aside from a few rough patches here and there, we’ve been playing great baseball lately. Here’s the full June (and beginning of July) update.

June 2054 Calendar

July 2054 Calendar

For the month of June (and counting the remainder of the Seattle series), we went 20-9. That was a good stretch against some good teams that have playoff hopes. We’ve also started off the White Sox series on a good note. With even win against them, we further dash their hopes of catching us.

TRANSACTIONS

May 11 – Placed 1B Lee Charles on the 10-Day IL (Shoulder Cartilage Damage), Recalled 3B Duane McGregor

While Charles’ injury is a big bummer (12 HRs in 55 Games, .892 OPS), it does allow Benny Chavez to see more playing time. He’s a contact hitter with great defense, so he’s about the exact opposite of Charles’ profile, but this is a great chance for our former first rounder to show what he can do.

Game Highlight

We needed a great offensive game to keep fighting off their comeback attempts. It’s always great to see everyone get a hit and it never hurts when your one through four hitters go 10-for-20 at the plate!
