My thoughts on all things OS, sports, and life.
My thoughts on the growth and mis-steps of Operation Sports. There will be some thoughts on sports and anything else that comes to mind. I'll also talk a little bit about life in general too. I'm open to discuss anything that is allowed.

NFL Free Agency kicks off March 12 and that means it's time to look at the top players available this offseason. Where these players sign will have significant carry over for gamers in Madden NFL 25, great players give the user the power to enhance defensive schemes and add new offensive options. There's no need to mention free agents who aren't going anywhere, either by re-signing with their current team or being slapped ... Read More

This year I am thankful for some really amazing sports games, both new and old.

Let's start with the new.

I am thankful for NBA 2K13, especially in the absence of competition. I'm thankful that 2K Sports and Visual Concepts has given NBA 2K13 the care and attention that a proper NBA simulation deserves; and in the process have made a sports game of the year candidate.

I am thankful ... Read More

Recently, users on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 have not been able to download rosters from other gamers using the in-game roster share function. Many passed it off as a glitch, bug, or server issue.

What sports gamers might need to face however, is this reality; this might be the beginning of the end. With the lawsuits that have been filed against EA Sports and the NCAA on behalf of players such as Sam Keller ... Read More

Ask most people what the most important element of sports gaming is, and they'll tell you that it's gameplay. It's a popular opinion and one that I shared for a long time. As I've grown older and began to examine what is missing from this generation of sports games, I've come to appreciate another element of sports gaming as much, if not more-so, than gameplay. It's hard to put into just a few words because it encompasses so much. And when it's missing, you notice immediately. It's the feeling you ... Read More

How much time do you think you've spent testing & tweaking NCAA 08/09/10/11/12 and the Madden games?

GMS: Every day of the year. Working from home has its advantages. That plus I am a night owl who doesn’t sleep a lot, so probably 8 to 10 hours a day on most days.

PM: Believe it or not I've been working on Historic Rosters for NCAA 11 for well over a year now....It's not that it takes a year but more because I like to really make sure each player is edited properly ... Read More

So I just finished playing my first official game of Madden NFL 11. I played as my team, the Carolina Panthers and I played against the KC Chiefs in Charlotte. I won 69-17. The following thoughts are gonna be very free-form and I'm just gonna type it as it comes to me.

I started by putting all of the penalties except holding, clipping, and face mask at 100. Then I set the skill level to Pro, figuring it was a good place to start. Wow, I was wrong, at least I hope so.

Well it's almost 2010 now and as I look back and reflect on the year (and the decade) that was, I wanted to check in here at the Ol' OS Blog. I wanted to go back to my posting from December 29th, 2008. It was then that I posted 4 major New Year's Resolutions for the year 2009.

The past year was filled with many ups and downs, I was laid off, broke up with a g/f, got the Swine Flu, and generally had a rough go the last 6 months of the year in my personal life.

On the ... Read More

And I haven't laughed that hard at a movie in the theater that I can remember in my life. I was in stitches almost from the start. It doesn't hurt that I loved the Ali G Show (have both seasons on DVD) and I loved Borat.

I very rarely want to see a movie badly enough that I can't wait for it on DVD, maybe 2 or 3 movies a year. This is one of those movies, partially because I am familiar with the Bruno character from the Ali G Show and I had always hoped to see the character fleshed ... Read More

I logged onto XBL early tonight and there were 6 people online and 5 of them were playing UFC Undisputed.

I thought cool, that's a pretty good number and I usually only see that many at the same time with a game like NCAA and Madden.

Within 2 hours, I saw 12 people online and 11 of them were playing UFC Undisputed! I was in a 6 person party and every one of us were engrossed in Career mode.

As I've looked around on the internet it seems that everyone ... Read More

**Warning Very Long Read Ahead**

So, I wanted to try my hand at writing a review that I would want to read. Something that takes into account the bugs, glitches, and possible fixes to a game. I decided to start with MLB 2K9 from 2k Sports and Visual Concepts.

I wanted to spend some time with that game before giving it a fair review. I understand that not everyone who writes a review has time to do this, because of deadlines and the need for a release day review ... Read More

February 2009 Review -

1. Change my job/Start a career for myself. - This has stalled somewhat, as my company has put me in limbo working many different positions but none actually advancing myself. I've come very close to quitting which I guess would technically count as changing my job, lol. Crappy month. February Grade = D+

2.Save more money. - I've done a tremendous hob with this, although here at the end of the month I've spent a lot of money on alcohol and pre-ordered ... Read More

Wow, so I fired up High Heat 2004 for XBox on my 360 tonight for a trip around the diamond and to see how the game has held up over the years. Well, I've gotta say - it was the most fun I've had playing a game of baseball in over 2 years. Between nitpicking 2K7 and 2K8, I had forgotten what I loved about baseball games. I found it again in HH 2004. It's hard to put your finger on.

The sound is a mixed bag on the XBox version of HH 2004. On one hand you've got some good commentary, ... Read More
