What If...
What If... Entry 1
The date is October 14th 2003. You and the 4 friends you went with have just seen the Chicago Cubs score 1 run and are now well on their way to winning the National League Championship Series with a 3-0 lead in game 6. After a flyout to Moises Alou the Cubs are only 4 outs away. Then speedster Juan Pierre doubles. No problem there's a 3-run cushion. Then Luis Castillo steps into the box. He takes the first pitch he sees then he swings on the second pitch trying to crush it. Mark Prior delivers a curveball that tails out of the zone 1-2. The crowd is on their feet and then Prior leaves a fastball over the plate the ball seems as though it was destined for you. You look over and see Moises Alou trying to make a play on the your hands slowly retract from the ball. You no longer want the ball seeing that Alou has now jumped and is in the air. The ball nestles in his glove but, while coming back down his arm hits the wall separating the fans from the players causing the ball to fall to the ground. The audience lets out a loud "oooh". You pick-up the foul ball. But unfortunately, the Marlins explode for 8 runs winning the game and forcing a game 7.

Hi guys. This is my first blog of hopefully many reliving major sporting event and asking "What if..." This one is on the Steve Bartman play. i personally believe that the lovable losers wouldn't have made it out of the inning with the lead. Alou wasn't an amazing fielder so he might not have made the catch. Also, Derek Lee doubled tying the game before the would be third out was recorded. The Marlins would have had the momentum into the ninth ending the game with a win.

Hope you enjoyed!
