Madden NFL 10: Offense Be-Ware

This article is part of an ongoing Madden NFL 10 Strategy series provided to Operation Sports by Askmadden.com. Be sure to check them out for more great Madden Strategies!

Demarcus Ware has become one of the most dominant pass rushers in the league, and the Dallas Cowboy defense is finding more and more ways to utilize his great ability.

One of the more successful ways has been to use him as an outside linebacker in a 3-4 set, and have a blitz designed to overload one side. This allows D Ware to get free off the edge, or have a one on one matchup with either the tackle or the running back -- which the Cowboys will take every time.

Having a pass rusher such as Ware allows the rest of the secondary to be able to jump routes more consistently, because they know the opposing quarterback only has a short time with the ball.

Westbrook is not a good blocker. However that doesnt excuse the LG not blocking inside out to cover the A gap...Also the QB did not drop back or make a hot read to the slot receiver. This would not happen to my offense or any competent offensive coordinator.

Nobodys unstoppable on defense.Last time I checked Brandon Jacobs had a field day against Dallas. Also The Vaunted Steelers have had their problems on defense as well,so no,no player even in Madden is unstoppable.

Ware is overrated, yes he's a good pass rusher and play maker. But if you run right at him he will be over aggressive and not hold his gap. As an overall player he is way overrated, I'll give in and say that he is one of the best pass rushers in the league. Players, no.

Westbrook had one of the lowest pass blocking ratings in the game. Check the stats.

Ware is overrated, and James Harrison is far better than wear, Down for down played. And I am a browns fan lol

I thought I was the only one that noticed this... The LG totally bailed on the play.

Faulty blocking logic is as much to blame for these nano's as anything.

Simply throw to where Ware blitzed from... that will tick alot of people off that intend to use this strategy.

By exemplary do you mean runs out of the way and gets hurt when a defender looks at him?In that case yes, he is the "gold" standard.Westbrook may be known for a lot of things but blocking ain't one of 'em.

Ware better than Harrison? Is that some sort of joke?

I thought the same thing. I think Ware is slightly better at getting sacks. Harrison is the best in the league at forcing fumbles. Harrison plays the run way better. Harrison is definitely better in coverage. Anyone see that hit on Buckhalter over the middle vs the Broncos? OUCH

Overall, Harrison is definitely a better football player. I think as far as physical build goes, Ware just about ideal.. 6'4 260... perfect.

Don't forget about Jones-drew. He;s an absolute hard worker when it comes to blocking for the quarterback.

D.Ware isn't really asked to cover and for good reason. He excels at pass rushing. Its preference imo. I like Ware for his size and freakish athletic ability. They are both really good for the systems that they play in.

No joke. I've seen Harrison dominate his half of the field consistently. Guy plays the run as good as any OLB I've seen. His strength allows him to control, push back, and shed even the stronger run blocking offensive linemen in the league. His strength is unique and it really shows defending the run.

Ive really only seen Jones-Drew block once on Merriman and that was only because he wanted revenge. Even said it in an interview.

I'm about to trade Ware for a young defensive end that has great potential, and some draft picks.
