Better player to build around Anthony Davis or kyrie Irving? Both players have their strengths and weaknesses. Anthony will start with a high rating for a player who hasn't played a game. He will undoubtedly have a high potential rating also. If you choose the hornets you could expect to start out with a great shot blocker. Based on how he dominated college, your interior defense should be solid. He was not a go to scorer but has the talent to improve that. You will have to rely on others to get buckets early on and use him as a rebounder/defender.
Kyrie will give you a completely different experience. Coming off a rookie of the year season, he proved ready for the big time. He showed that his shooting touch was at a veteran level. Kyrie was more than capable at getting to the basket. He is not a super athletic pg,ala rose/westbrook, but there is no lack in quickness. With the new right-stick dribble, breaking down a defense should be easy. He also proved that he could get others involved when necessary. Finding him a solid post presence or developing his teammates tristan Thompson could go a long way into creating a contender. If dion waiters has a solid potential rating and can hit open jumpers, you might have a backcourt tandem for years.
Cap space should be no problem with the cavs or hornets. If integrated properly, the new cba could provide your team with quality players throughout your association. If you don't mind using the first season as a developmental year, drafting high could provide another talent. Don't be shy to dangle draft picks to get the necessary player(s) it takes to win a title.
Which would you choose? The defensive specialist Anthony Davis or the efficient scoring Kyrie Irving.

This is a good one. I think I'd go with Kyrie. Anthony Davis is slightly overrated. When people call him a definite superstar, I just don't see it. Ibaka is what I see Anthony Davis being in the near future. He has a better feel for the game, but they both rely on the mid range and dunks offensively and swat shots defensively. Anthony Davis is not a sure thing, tho I'm sure 2k almost has to rate him as one, but I would still go with Kryie. Kyrie is playing at a position loaded with talent where you could find cheaper replacements. (Isaiah Thomas is 5'9, but scores at about a 47% clip and 15-17 points per 40 minutes, but will be MUCH easier to get than Kyrie) Kyrie is great for a young guard and his near 50-40-90 shooting season is outrageous for a PG, outside of Nash, let alone for a 19 year old. I'd go with Kyrie because he's done it before. 2k has to give Davis the benefit of the doubt, but I'm one of the few people who aren't sold on Davis being a superstar. I have trouble imagining him scoring 20 ppg in the league, and there are only a handful of players who can be stars without scoring.

Both players will have high potential ratings. I believe both will be superstars down the line. But in Nba2k13 you'll have the chance to develop them in their areas of weakness. I think Davis will create more mismatches at center because of his speed and quickness. He will also have two shooters in the lineup with Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon.
Kyrie will have a harder time separating from the other elite pgs. Improving his defense will be a top priority. Missing out on bynum will make you decide between free agency or trading up in the draft to get him more help. I would take Davis hoping he'll keep the paint scorer free.
