The main course for the sim-head playing MyLeague.

Just faced Kevin Durant in three straight defensive possessions leading to half-time. My defender was Aaron Gordon. I was able to stay in front of Durant on the dribble, and prevent any downhill runs at the basket by playing proper off-ball defense.

As everyone knows, it is never over with Durant. He blew me up for 38 last game and his side won easily by 20. This game I have kept him a little quiet for 22 minutes. It is getting close to halftime and Kevin Durant needed me to know he is... Kevin Durant

Once he was convinced there was no drive, and Gordon would seriously challenge a jumper, he went into a back down animation. On my left side of the court, he is leaning against Gordon with his right shoulder; reality has taught me this is a difficult shot for a right-hand shooter especially against a hyper-athletic defender. I had to "work" a little bit to keep him thinking he was winning the right shoulder push; if I stopped him too hard, he would counter to his left and Gordon would be toast.

Walking a wire, but I pulled it off. Three straight backdowns, three straight stops. Gotta love the small victories. Gotta love the nuance. Gotta love the 2K.

It will be interesting to see what he comes with the second half. Wish me luck.
