TIGERS (35-8) SWEEP MARLINS
Mark Canha (4), Javier Baez (7) and Kyle Dutcher (15) homered, as the Tigers beat the Marlins 7-4. Dutcher, and Andy Ibanez had two RBI each. Tarik Skubal (8-0) tossed six innings, allowing three runs, to earn the win.
The Tigers pounded the Marlins in game two, 16-5. Javy Baez, Kyle Dutcher, and Andy Ibanez had three RBI each. Colt Keith added a pair. Baez (8) and Dutcher (16) hit home runs. Kenta Maeda (6-1) earned the win.
The Tigers scored twice in the bottom of the 8th, to take game three 2-1. Jack Flaherty pitched really well, allowing just one run and three hits in 6 2/3 innings. Shelby Miller (2-0) earned the win in relief.
The Tigers have an off day on THursday, then head out on a six game road trip, with three games in Arizona against the Diamondbacks (19-25) followed by three in Kansas City against the Royals (17-28)

TIGERS (32-8) WIN TWO OF THREE VS ASTROS
The Tigers won game one, by a score of 3-1. Spencer Torkelson (16) homered, and drove in two. Kerry Carperter added an RBI. Jack Flaherty tossed seven innings, allowing just one run. Tyler Holton picked up the win in relief.
The Astros evened up the series with a 3-2 win in game two. Chaz McCormick homered, and drove in two. The Tigers got a pair of RBI from Spencer Torkelson in the loss. Matt Manning (6-1) allowed three runs in five innings, taking the loss.
The Tigers won game three, 2-0. Casey Mize (3-3), Jason Foley, and Andrew Chafin combined to shut out the Astros. Detroit's runs came on an RBI single by Riley Greene in the third, and a Colt Keith RBI double in the seventh.
The Tigers remain home, concluding their home stand with a three game series against the Miami Marlins (22-20). The Marlins are currently in third in the N.L. East, 8.5 games back of the Atlanta Braves.

TIGERS (30-7) TAKE TWO OF THREE IN CLEVELAND
The Tigers won a slugfest in game one, by an 8-6 score. The Tigers hit five home runs, while the Guardians hot two. Kyle Dutcher (13) and Carson Kelly (3) had a pair of homers each, and Spencer Torkelson (15) also went deep. Casey Mize struggled, allowing five runs on ten hits in five innings.
The Tigers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, and held on to beat the Guardians 3-2 in game two. Spencer Torkelson doubled in a pair of runs in the first inning. Jose Agua added his first career home run, a solo shot in the second. Agua, a Cuban free agent signed in the offseason, was called up right before the series began.
Tarik Skubal (7-0) allowed two runs on eight hits in six and two thirds innings, to earn the win. Jason Foley pitched a perfect ninth to earn his first save.

The Tigers dropped game three by a 5-4 score. Jose Agua (2) and Kyle Dutcher (14) homered for the Tigers. Agua had three RBI. The Guardians got a three run home run from Brayan Rocchio. Jose Ramirez added a solo shot of his own.
Kenta Maeda (5-1) allowed four runs on nine hits in five and two thirds innings, and took the loss.
The Tigers have an off day on Thursday, then head home for a six game homestand, beginning with three against the A.L. West leading Houston Astros (23-13)
TIGER NOTES
Zach McKinstry placed on 10 Day Injured List, Jose Agua recalled
Prior to game one of the series, the Tigers placed Zach McKinstry on the 10 day Injured List, with a pulled calf. The team recalled OF/3B Jose Agua from Toledo. Agua was signed out of Cuba in the offseason.
