The problem is it is all about $$$. CBS is losing money on the NCAA tournament. The NCAA wants to make the same amount of money on the next deal. The NCAA is just raising the inventory to get the same amount of money as the last deal. It is a bad deal for fans. The current setup is perfect. The way I see it every team (except Ivy) currently make the tournament. They play a conference tourney to get in the big show and some wildcard spots are up for grabs. Expanding the tourney is just going to water it down. In football the issue is that the NCAA doesn't have any control over the post season. The Universities and Presidents have the power. If they go to a tourney they will have to turn it over to the NCAA and lose power/money. It is all about money money money. Anything else is BCS but drop the C.
