Top Ten Fantasy players on the decline
Posted on May 15, 2009 at 02:35 PM.
Hopefully you’ve taken the opportunity to grab some of the rising players in fantasy baseball for the 2009 season.

In the past couple of days since the Top 10 list of players on the rise, some of those very late bloomers have shown their worth. Denard Span continues to raise his average with clutch hitting for the Twins, Helton is ripping at his peak pace, and Juan Pierre has finally found a comfort zone with the job in the Dodger’s outfield solely his own.

With the good there must be the bad, and these guys’ numbers are just that. Hopefully you’re not holding any of the following players on your team, but if you are it’s time to take the advice of Snoop Dogg. Drop ‘em like they’re hot!

1.Dexter Fowler, Col, OF
.250 AVG, 15 R, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 10 SB
Seven (7) hits in last 38 at-bats (.184 AVG).

2.Emilio Bonifacio, Fla, 2B
.262 AVG, 23 R, 1 HR, 7 RBI, 7 SB
Hitting .233 in May and only 1 stolen base in last four attempts.

3.Pat Burrell, TB, OF
.250 AVG, 9 R, 1 HR, 17 RBI
Likely headed to the DL w/ neck injury. Old age catching up which means arduous recovery.

4.Chris Young, Ari, OF
.185 AVG, 13 R, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 4 SB
Six (6) for 34 in May (.176 AVG).

5.Conor Jackson, Ari, 1B
.182 AVG, 8 R, 1 HR, 14 RBI, 5 SB
Sitting on DL after going four (4) for 30 (.133 AVG) this month.

6.Cameron Maybin, Fla, CF
.202, 11 R, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 1 SB
Marlins have seen enough and demoted Maybin to AAA New Orleans.

7.Endy Chavez, Sea, LF
.274 AVG, 11 R, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 6 SB
Hitting .154 in May with 4 hits in 24 at-bats.

8.Rick Ankiel, StL, OF
.247 AVG, 11 R, 2 HR, 11 RBI
Owners have kept the faith after poor start, but trip to DL is the last straw.

9.Garrett Atkins, Col, 1B
.198 AVG, 14 R, 3 HR, 14 RBI
Batting an abysmal .076 through the month of May.

10.Adam LaRoche, Pit, 1B
.234 AVG, 17 R, 6 HR, 16 RBI
Eight (8) for 46 (.173 AVG) in May

Endy Chavez also lost his starting job.

If you even actually had him its time to call it quits.

At least Chavez's batting average won't drop while he's on the bench... hopefully.
