The Show 21 RTTS: Infielding help needed

I haven't played the show in probably 10 years and am trying to get back into it this year. I'm am playing RTTS and am struggling with figuring out how to throw the ball after fielding a grounder. A target appears and I try to move it to the desired base, all while a meter runs down. After that I can't figure out what to do. I've tried the base button and also clicking the stick, and my player usually stands there and holds the ball. I'm pulling out what little hair I have left. Any tips or guidance to get me started would be appreciated! Thanks!

That's the showtime mechanic.

First press the button corresponding to the base you want to throw to (you can pre-load this throw as well) then when the target appears use the analog stick to line up the cursor to inside the target range before the time meter expires to make an accurate throw then pull the right trigger to make the throw.

Definitely check out the tutorial in the main menu. It'll let you try all of the different interfaces available in the game.

Thank You!! I know now what its called (Showtime Mechanic), so I can look it up. My 10 year son helped me figure out to press RT to make the throw so I'm starting to get it down...LOL. I will definitely check out the tutorial.
