Basically 900 years after Origins, 338 years before the original Assassin's Creed with Altair and 12 years before Valhalla.

Re: Assassin's Creed Mirage - October 5, 2023

Played it for 90 minutes last night. Graphically I would say it is on par with the last game, only with better looking HDR. I didn't think it would it be a huge graphical leap considering they are releasing the game on the PS4 and Xbox One as well. Feels good to be back in the Middle East. I do like this time around they have a lot of native language being spoken. Can't really speak on the combat yet considering I only fought once so far but it was fluid.

Game runs smooth on the PC, which I expected no less considering graphically this isn't that demanding of a game. Game was optimized for the Intel Arc GPU, which is a mid range card. With my RTX 4090 with the settings maxed out, averaging 104fps in 4K, with sometimes hitting 183 to 190fps. Game only uses about 7GB of VRAM.

Going back to the parkour/stealth assassin feel of the Ezio trilogy is a massive W. I couldn't put this down last night, much to the dismay of my 8:00am meeting today.

Shohreh Aghdashloo being the voice actor for Roshan to me is one of the best parts of the game. I could listen to her voice 24/7. I do notice in this game there is way more emphasis on historical sites in this game. Which is cool and all but I feel as though they could have left that for new game plus or tour guide mode because pretty much everywhere you go you see 2 or 3 historical markers pop up.

Also noticed this game requires you to really think about your plan of attack for really important missions. I am at this mission now and yeah I am having to really think about it. Guards are plentiful and this time around going all Rambo style really is a death sentence in this game. Armored heavy guards are no joke. They swarmed and killed me. And the notoriety thing is pretty strong in this game. The NPCs will spot you and rat you out with the quickness.

Re: Assassin's Creed Mirage - October 5, 2023

I will say I am having mixed feelings so far about this game. I loved the Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla style games, I didn't mind pumping in over 100 hours into each game as the world kept me engaged. Unfortunately alot of the gaming community was outraged with this direction the franchise was going so they pumped the brakes on it and went back to its roots.

This too me feels like a DLC on steroids and Ubisoft was very transparent about that with being able to complete the main story in under 20 hours. I will play more over the next fews and see how it's goes.

As Gotmadskilz said this game definitely forces you to use more stealth combat like the older style AC games and also makes you plan out your infiltration missions as well.
