So Was Ronnie2k Right?

Is this the best 2k ever from top to bottom? I'm leaning towards yes; simply because no other sports game ever made has been this deep with stuff to be able to do. The gameplay is also good. I'm not detecting any lies from Ronnie right now lol.

Yes. They finally topped 2K11. My only gameplay complaint is the shot system, where I wish there was an option to make shots play out like older 2K’s in that you had to learn the timing but there was no “Green” mechanic.

Greatest basketball game ever. Hands down.

Its in the argument for best sports game ever as well in my opinion. I think in 10 years it will be mentioned
with the other all time classics MVP05, NFL 2k5 and College Hoops 2k8.

Absolutely, nostalgia is personal but side to side - 2K23 is the best overall 2K yet.

Actually had a question I wanted to bring to the boards about this.

Was there ever "no green mechanic" in 2K. I have memories of practice mode on the PS2 where they were giving me yellow "slightly late"/"slightly early" and green "excellent" shot feedback.

Is it more about getting the green animation/shot feedback in game? Or excellent releases being automakes?

Just curious b/c I hear "get greens out the game" a lot but I've been playing this game for 20 years an feel like greens have been in the game for like 15 years at least.

To the original post question, yes. Hard to compare across console generations but this is up there with 11 and 16 as all timers to me. Though they still haven't reached the summit of the CH2K8 mountain.

Still too early to tell.

Core gameplay is largely unchanged with only slight tweaks to enhance?

YES. EMPHATICALLY YES.

Game is patched to death to cater to dribble godz. Nope.

Let's re-assess in 1 month.

Re: So Was Ronnie2k Right?

Id disagree, 2k11 is still better in my opinion. Sure 2k23 has better graphics, character models and animations but 2k11 has better gameplay and longevity. Whenever i talk about 2k11, i have to say that is the only game where i played multiple seasons and played every game in mycareer. After the jordan challenges, i can hardly play 2k23 because of my internet situation. Dont know why myplayer has to be connected to the online with the horrible story.

Re: So Was Ronnie2k Right?

Definitely has potential to be but depending on how the patches that are released effect the game will decide my answer. As of now there are alot of bugs they are fixable but question is if the patches will fix old issues and cause new problems. For now im just playing the Jordan challenge mode where it is somewhat safe.
