BLUES pound SHARKS 4-1

RECAP 3/13/20

San Jose, CA- Robin Lehner turned away 25 Shots, Vladimir Tarasenko scored his 40th Goal of the year and the St. Louis Blues(39-21-12) knock off the San Jose Sharks(39-22-9) on Friday Night inside the SAP Center.

Tarasenko(40) and Jaden Schwartz(15) scored early in the First Period to give the Blues a 2-0 lead.

Sharks Goalie Martin Jones struggled once again as he allowed 3 Goals with 26 Saves.

David Perron(17) scored in the Second Period that gave St. Louis(39-21-12) a 3-0 lead .

"That's a really good Hockey Team over there. Mike (Yeo) has done an amazing job with that Squad. We saw them in the Conference Finals last year and it seems like they haven't skipped a beat." Sharks Head Coach Peter DeBoer stated.

In the closing seconds of the 2nd Period, Tomas Hertl's slapshot got the Fins on the board.

His 17th Goal of the campaign.

Brayden Schenn's Empty netter sealed the Win for St. Louis. His 17th of the year.

"We played a great Game against them and with how they beat us in the Conference Finals last year we knew we had to play them tough. I'm sure we may see them again in the Playoffs." Blues Head Coach Mike Yeo stated.

The Sharks(39-22-9) will host the Montreal Canadiens(35-31-4) on Sunday Night. The Habs are in 5th Place in the Atlantic Division and 1 Point out of a Playoff Spot in the Eastern Conference.

This will also mark the return of Joe Thornton back to the Shark Tank. Thornton signed a 1 Year Deal with Montreal this past Off-Season. However he won't be suiting up as he's nursing a MCL Injury and isn't due back until March 22. San Jose beat Montreal inside the Bell Centre on February 22.
