Prior to the Thrashers, there was a minor league team called the Atlanta Knights (I believe they were associated with the TB Lightning). They had a pretty hardcore following, even after the team left...

That last question was kind of redundant wasn't it? I literally just said that I was going to 10+ games a year as a broke college student for the Thrashers...a team that had exactly 1 winning season...

I can't comment on other cities, but specifically concerning Atlanta.

Atlanta is a hockey city that failed twice. The first time was in the 70s, a decade and a half before the city completely...
