Re: The Transfer Thread

Monaco is asking for like 80m for Lemar, don't see Arsenal paying that much

Re: The Transfer Thread

If Alexis ends up leaving, they'll have a little extra money. I can't tell if anyone is coming or going though with all the crazy news out there. I'm fairly new to the European summer transfer stuff (been watching for years but not hardcore until recently), and it's hard for me not to be online looking for the latest and greatest news right now. Haha

Apparently, Alexis to City is back in the news. I know how other sports work, but I'm not 100% sure on soccer contracts. If Alexis is only signed through this next season, he can walk for free next summer correct? Or does the team still own a certain share of his rights? I just can't see why they won't sell him and move on if he's definitely not returning next season. The same goes for a lot of other players in the news.

They have the money to do it without selling Alexis, I'm just saying I'd be shocked if they spent that much money on a single player. Replacing Alexis with Thomas Lemar would definitely be hilarious though.

Also yes, Alexis walks free next summer, which is part of the issue. They either sell him right now and get money, or try to convince him to at least put effort into this season and let him to wherever he wants for free next summer.

I can see why they are taking the stance they are taking tbh. They don't want to be a club that sells their best players anymore. It's been additionally embarrassing because they have regularly sold their best players to rival clubs in the same league. This one is probably the main focus, stopping the sale of good players to domestic rivals would be a positive step forward for Arsenal.

You obviously don't want to be known as a club who will keep their players even when they don't want to be there, but the problem has been, once again, the culture at Arsenal. For example, if a top player wants to leave Chelsea they already know they will have to leave the league. Players know Arsenal will sell to whoever, it's part of their current culture. The whole Alexis ordeal is seemingly an attempt to change that.

Re: The Transfer Thread

These Mbappe and Neymar sagas are pretty funny to watch unfold, but man oh man the market going forward is going to be absolutely ****ed if they actually go through.

Re: The Transfer Thread

Apparently, part of Neymar's demands to PSG for them to sign him is that they also sign Coutinho...and two other world class players.

LOL, OK dude.
