Return of The Russian Rocket...But To WHO???

The Pittsburgh Penguins!!!

Bure decided to make a come back after a few years out of the league...

and he chose the Pens.

Previews to come...

2k8 is the game (IMO the best hockey game ever) and the sliders are very challenging...cause I hate winning w/o a challenge.

Updates will be done game to game...similar to the style of my Cardinals updates.

Once again, its baseball season so much of my attention will be spent there...but this will get played...probably more often than I'm letting on.

Re: Return of The Russian Rocket...But To WHO???

A Rocket Has Landed...

The Pittsburgh Penguins consider themselves very lucky today.

Two weeks after retired super-sniper Pavel Bure made it known that he had been rehabbing his knee and was contemplating a comeback, the Penguins convinced the Russian Rocket that Pittsburgh was the place he needed to be.

"I think it was obvious. The Penguins have of of the best teams in hockey.. is very young... is exciting. I'm happy to be back in NHL. I think I am the piece they need", said the former 60-goal scorer who in a career shorted by knee injuries was able to tally 437 goals and 342 assists for 779 points in just 702 games.

Bure, who many skeptics feel is still injury prone, is fully confident that his abilities are still at an elite level.

"I've been training and skating ever since 2005...slowly building my strength. I know what it feels like to be an elite player...I am that now", remarked Bure in response to the skeptics.

Penguins nation is obviously excited to have the Russian Rocket on its side and the NHL as a whole should also be very happy to have one last chance to see one of the greatest pure goal scorers to ever play the game skate once again.

Re: Return of The Russian Rocket...But To WHO???

Well, after losing three games I played because of a freeze issue...I will be turning injuries off. :signball:

Yeah, it loses some realism but I can't deal with with freezes...

the only plus is that I lost Bure for a week, so whatever...I guess I have him back now.

the bad thing is I lost an 8-0 win over Phoenix (rare hat trick for Talbot), an exciting 4-3 win against the Leafs, and a 2-1 loss to the Oil.

Whatever...I guess.

Just reinforces that I should save after every game. I can't complain too much either as the is the first time this has happened to me with 2k8 after 150 games or so.

TTYL...you silent types.

He's been away too long, lost his conditioning! :)

Keep it up, this is very good.

OMG, no...I always hated Valeri Bure...just a cheap knock off of his brother.

I remember seeing an interview with him once and he commented how he was always the last one on the ice and the first to leave. What the hell?

Pens And Sharks Complete Blockbuster Deal

To San Jose

Bill Guerin 28 Games 9 Goals 9 Assists 18 Points +9 61 Shots
Ruslan Fedetenko 28 Games 2 Goals 11 Assists 13 Points -1 43 Shots

To Pittsburgh

Jonathan Cheechoo 27 Games 13G, 5A 18PTS -2 67SOG
Mike Grier 27 Games 2G 6A 8PTS -9 28SOG

Trade Analysis by Mike Milbury

The Pittsburgh Penguins and San Jose Sharks both exchanged a pair of RW's today and while the trade looks even, I have to give the edge to Pittsburgh. The Pens gave up Bill Guerin who had 9 goals and 9 assists, but 2 goals and 3 assists came in just one game earlier this season giving him 7 goals and 6 assists in the other 27 games...not even 1/2 a point per game, folks...and thats while playing on a line with Evgeni Malkin and Miroslav Satan. Not that I'm a fan of Euro's or anything, but c'mon Billy. Cheechoo has one of the best shots in the game and will do real well along side Malkin, which is where I'm thinking he'll be playing.

Fedetenko was struggling to score and it never hurts for a squad to have more grit, so Mike Grier will bring a lot of needed grit to the Pens. This deal will pay off immediately for the Pens.

New Pens Lines

Kunitz-Crosby-Bure
Satan-Malkin-Cheechoo
Sykora-Staal-Grier
Talbot-Christensen-Laraque (replacing Taffe)

The fact that the game summery is a bit hard to read takes away some of the overall quality.

but trust me, this is great!!!

I don't see anything wrong with the summaries, especially since I started putting the current records for both teams in parenthasis...

Thanks for reading, man. I appreciate the feedback.
