Has online play changed recently? (Difficulty/game style)

I have always been under the impression that ranked online games are played on superstar Sim. I may be wrong. But recently I have noticed that I am hitting jump shots a way higher clip. I also getting a ton of green releases. My opponents are also hitting way more 3s and jump shots. I have been finding it really hard to play defense. The average score in my last few games has been extremely high.

Is it just me? Or have the settings changed. Has it gone to default or to allstar/pro. Because that's what it feels like to me. I have played a lot of games and now it feels off. Just wonder if somebody knows.

There was a patch...and at first it was a lot easier to make shots and score.

Right now, I'm under the impression that since then its been tweaked, because I'm playing Online Ranked Games with tons of defense and I'm missing some wide open (by ten feet) Yellow releases that are right on the "line". Which I am perfectly fine with just to be clear.

I'm pretty sure that all online games are always on Pro/Default, which already makes defense pretty much non-existent but now with this recent patch, just what's the point anymore. It's turned into a pissing contest, this game is starting to look like NBA Jam, whether you play defense or not everything is going in.

well i play my friend online and we put it on superstar sim.... our fg% are actually pretty realistic. in the low to high 40's.

so i would say if you are getting crazy high percentages during ranked games, its probably not on superstar sim(for the record, 2k will tell you that ranked games are on superstar sim, but i highly doubt it.)

I play a lot of Rec/park and ever since the patch everyone makes every jumper now no matter what. Mid range shots especially never miss.

This is true, an I would even say 3pt shots if your up against a guy who has his timing and motion down pat. I've already seen several players, including myself (and I don't even consider myself a shooter), who have dropped 40-50 Pts in the rec shooting only 3pt shots an a few mid-range
