MyNBA players, how do you replicate the "playoffs" difference?

Do you change sliders or any settings when you get to playoffs? Do you adjust anything for the CPU teams?

Or leave everything as it is during regular season?

I'm just starting up my first MyNBA campaign and wondering if I can "turn on" that playoff feel that I'm seeing now in real life when I get to in-game playoffs.

Thoughts?

2k should create a playoff sliders and make the AI smarter and gameplay stay hyper focus against a superstar

-Build a wall against the Freak

-tight coverage against Harden

-miami plays more zone and role players start to pick up!

-teams will start to Dig and double shaq more

All this is next Gen playoffs

I disagree. They should just fix whatever universal game mechanics are literally broken (i.e., not functioning as intended) and leave stuff like this to us. It’s bad enough that they implemented under-the-hood Era-based gameplay changes; let’s not get them to ruin the playoffs too.

EDIT: To answer OP, I account for the playoffs with slider tweaks. Also, if Scott Foster is reffing an elimination game then I make the foul sliders more favorable to the team facing elimination.

I'm old, so I grew up having to build the imagination of what I needed.

To be fair, in my opinion, 2K does a decent job. The NBA Finals could use alot of work but I do enjoy the change of atmosphere that I get in the playoffs.

I increase contest shots, hustle, help D, driving contact and inside contact. Only by a few points though, maybe 5 at the most. I will also lower shooting fouls by a point or two to replicate the refs letting them play a bit more.

It's all about rotations. Top 7-8 players, not these 4-5-man line changes goes a long way.

I take control of the other team and set an 8-9 man rotation based on what I think is realistic. I'll also change the coach settings matchups and coverages based on what I imagine a team would do.

With sliders I'll also up the offensive and defensive awareness for the CPU, drop the offensive consistency for my players.

I'm a 30 team (or more if I do an expansion) control guy. I mostly let the other teams handle their own transactions, but I like to create scenarios, push trades, and not allow players to go to markets that make no sense. One of the things I have been doing the past few years and setting rotations for every team. I like to do this simply because some teams like to have high minutes 6th men in their closing lineups. Or a guy who starts but only plays like 18 minutes and is never in the closing lineup.

I also like to make sure most teams (have to try to account for bad coaches) to always have at least a decent playmaker/shot creator or at least one of that teams best on floor most times. The one hang-up is that the CPU simply will stick to the rotation even if a player gets in foul trouble.
