Why no analog (throwing) fielding love

I like analog throwing since they introduced it but
they completely neglected it after they introduced button accuracy. I mean there’s no perfect throw indicator or the meter when you want to gun someone down with your catcher.
While I want to prefer analog throwing I switched to button accuracy for all the extra’s you get.

What if SDS combines the button accuracy meter with analog throwing meter? It would work just the same as button accuracy, you just release the analog stick when the meter reaches the middle of the meter. It also makes it easier to see the deviation when pointing to a base. If you keep throwing a little bit offline to 1st base you can see your holding it to long for example. Now it’s a wild guess.

Any analog throwers out there that fiel the same?

Yes, a small wedge that showed the path of your RStick input, similar to the feedback you get from pin point pitching.

Ball is fielded, Analog input from user, and the result.

The WOI (wedge of influence) as I have called it for years in multiple write ups, would be based on the fielders’ ratings and the user’s inputs.

In the wedge, there would be a strip of green, which represents a perfect throw. On the top and bottom of that perfect green strip would be orange or yellow, showing a throw that wasn’t perfect, but not necessarily an automatic error.

The size of the green vs secondary colors, would be based on the ratings, allowing a larger WOI for higher rated fielders.

Fun and intuitive, and a lot more interactive than pressing a button.

Until then, let’s just see if we can get the “Off” setting on the throwing meter to actually be off. It would be like shutting the “Strike Zone” graphic off, then returning to the game and it is still on…

Let’s hope for an update that at least allows the Analog Throwing to be usable.

I guess the majority uses button accuracy haha. Not much traction here.

Re: Why no analog (throwing) fielding love

I gathered that as well…

But I have used Analog Throwing since they introduced it. Believe me, if there was a major hurdle/break/glitch with the directional hitting or zone hitting and our response to the glitch was ,” Duh, use analog swing with no auto stride, duh”… there would be plenty of traction…

All I am hoping for is for SDS to make “off” on the meter actually be “off. We can work on new throwing stuff later on.

I used analog throwing too. Since it messed up this year, I have switched to buttons.

Anybody having trouble throwing to cut off man? I'm holding the L1 button and throwing to desired base, but it always throws to the bases.

Press L1 first to throw to the cut-off. While the ball is in flight to the cut-off, press the button to the desired base.

I don't think holding L1 while you press a button for a specific base will work.

Re: Why no analog (throwing) fielding love

Personally, I like button throwing better, I guess I'm probably in the majority. A lot of sports games have tried to do innovative stuff with analog sticks and I'm not usually a fan. It's like with NBA 2k, I never liked analog shooting and in the WWE SVR games I hated when they had analog grapple controls.
